KHRC helps Kansans access the safe, affordable housing they need and the dignity they deserve.
Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) is a self-supporting, public corporation which serves as the primary administrator of federal housing programs for the State of Kansas.
Fifteen housing developments in fourteen Kansas communities will add a collective 522 affordable homes to the state’s housing stock, thanks to funds awarded through the state’s competitive housing development application process. The awards, totaling $9.99 million in both federal and state tax credits and $8.625 million in HUD Resources, will create over $180 million in development to construct 437 new homes and rehabilitate 185 existing homes for Kansas seniors and families.

Builders and developers in six Kansas communities will receive a combined total of $3,794,000 in Kansas Housing Investor Tax Credits (KHITCs) to develop affordable housing for moderate-income families in rural areas of the state.
Combined with leveraged resources to support the proposed initiatives, the awards represent a net gain of 124 affordable, quality housing units.

The 1968 Fair Housing Act protects people from housing discrimination regardless of race, color, religion, s*x, disability, familial status, or national origin. In 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that protections based on s*x also include a person's gender identity and s*xual orientation. Protections apply when renting or buying a home, getting a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, or engaging in other housing-related activities.
KHRC offices will be closed tomorrow, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth Freedom Day. Our offices will reopen on Thursday, June 20.
