Dharma Rescue
We are a non profit dog and cat rescue. We focus on rescuing our disabled, ill, and senior furry friends from high kill shelters.
At the vet with sweet kuro chan
We got a call if we can take this cat that came into the shelter. He was at the shelter for only 3 days. On day 4, he was going to be euthanized. Sadly, shelters are full, and they can not give him the timely attention he needs, getting expressed and cleaned.
Since moving into our new place, we have taken in 5 more dogs. We decided to take him in. What's one more kitty. He has an appointment with our vet. For now, we are doing pretty good with the expressing, just like Kenny, another shelter tail amputee we have. Our homeopath vet did amazing work on Kenny. I hope for the same for Kuro Chan.πββ¬ He came at a good time for us.We have started our fundraiser to help with medical care, food therapy, and the roof over the rescues. Both girls came to Dharma Rescue the week we moved in . One from the shelter and one from the streets. They hated each other and had a fight. They worked it out and are besties now.
Choping up some filler food for the dogs.
Lovey with cancer is getting hospice care. She likes variety meals and likes veggies, pasta ,etc. Now they all want what Lovey gets.π₯¦π₯¬ππ πππ©βπ³
Lily didn't get the memo. No cats in the reception area . She is such a princess.
Amazing Shelbi is walking. She was hit by a car on a Apache reservation in Arizona. The rescue Tails of Love did not have foster for a paralyzed dog so she stayed at their vets Blue Ridge Pet Clinic until we moved into out new place. During that time she got acupuncture and lots of loveand care by the staff. Nature is amazing like Goldie her body adapted to the change. Listen to what happened to her bones and yet she started walking. We took in a paralyzed dog and received one that walks and pees and poops on her own. No wheelchair for her in place of that she will get swim therapy and laser treatment.
Took our newest rescues, Shelbi and Goldie, for checkups. Looks like Goldie was born with deformed legs, so doc said save your money on x rays. Shelbi did get x rays to see how she healed from 5 months ago in Arizona. Call from doc that Goldies blood work ,f***l, UA was all good . Shelbi had xrays done they were shocking because she is walking and didn't have surgery . Waiting for the other clinic in Arizona to send her medical records to see if we need to have bloodwork and etc done again. So just did x rays. Posting good the x rays next.
A friend found this dog in Gardena . Rosecrans and Vermont Ave. Friendly, obedient. Seems like it has a family somewhere.
Please share
Picked up this little girl at Seaaca Shelter. Monday will make appointment to see our vetabout those deformed legs. She is clean with no sores on her limbs, someone must have taken good care of her.
On rare occasions we might take in a paralyzed dog from another rescue. I won't get into what it takes for a rescue to get us to take in a paralyzed dog that they took in and have no foster for. This is why we don't have fosters for our disabled dogs and cats.
Shelby from Arizona was one we took in back in Jan. We were moving to a new rescue home with more space. We said we would take her but not until April after our move.
During her 4 month wait at a wonderful vet they had, this girl started standing and soon she could wobble walk. We will tell her story later. It was because of everyone loving this sweet girl she is alive to live a new life. She comes from a Apache reservation rescued by Tails of Love a rescue that goes on the reservation and saves so many dogs. More on them later.
Shelby got her first bath today after acclimating to her new home. Bath time was fun,hmm not. She now has a shiny and less under coat fur.
Also tomorrow we go to pick up a California dog who was picked up by the shelter. She was trying to walk on her deformed legs. She starts her new comfortable life soon.
Thank you to everyone who helped us make this dream come true. Thank you for the generous donations and thank everyone who swept, scrubbed, carried, hammered, pulled, organized and wore out your bodies to make this happen. If you would like to continue helping, there is still more to do and donations will help. Https.//givebutter.com/dharmarescue

Thursday morning visit to Switzer Learning Center .
Back at vet for check up. Lets hope for good news. πππππππ
She was back at the vets. Stitches those darn stitiches. π«
What do you do with a 70lb. 9 month old ADD ,hyper, bored mastiff pup with 2 big cherry eyes. You get 1st surgery and the stitches come out. You go to a ophthalmologist specialist and have another surgery to repair eyes and less then a week later the stitches come out. So you have to go back tomorrow for another #3 surgery to repair where the stitches tore out again. And MyKenzie thinks it fun. She already had a reputation with the vet staff .ππ©
Lily's updateπΈπ₯°
Surgery done. Time to go home. And the healing begins again
The DAWGS are back at school. Its been almost 2 years since Covid year and lock downs. They are little troopers and know what to do. Finn did great on his first time being in the DAWGS pack.
