Traverse City, MI Family and Wedding Photographer
Emmanuel had his belt test this week at Seung-Ni Fit Club and Martial Arts - Traverse City! He ranked up to a Red Belt Black Stripe. One rank away from a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I am super proud of this kid!
My wife and son are writing a Webtoon (Online Comic) together!

It would be awesome to see this gain traction! It is a great story!
The Red Moon Kingdom Dean lives in Crest Town, a village in the Red Moon Kingdom. A land infested with wolves that prowl and bite villagers at the full moon. But there is something more going on... something, or someone behind all of this. Dean is determined to find answers.
This guy is 8 YEARS OLD today!!!! Happy Birthday shoutout to my awesome little (getting much bigger) boy!

Since 2016 (when our son was 8 months old) we have done a fun mother-son shoot for Mother's Day. It is a fun way to document his growth over the years... and apparently to document how many gray hairs I (Char) am accumulating... 😂😂😂

New Vlog! Enjoying our birthday date.
Our Birthday Date Mitch and I (Char) have our birthdays 10 days apart. We used to go out in between our birthdays on a special birthday date to celebrate all at once. But ho...
This is the week we celebrate our birthdays. A fun fact about us is that our birthdays are 10 days apart. (Mitch likes to joke that it is how he remembers my birthday is coming, because his precedes mine by less than two weeks.) We don’t really do birthday gifts. Being that we have our birthdays in the same month, it is also the time that we must register our vehicles again. Yay! Happy birthday to us, haha.
Even without a present to unwrap, year after year, the best gift is knowing that I’ve had another year with this guy by my side. We met when we were 18 and 19, this year we turn 35 and 36. We are close to knowing each other longer than we haven’t. So thankful that I get to spend the bulk of my life with my best friend.
Happy Birthday to the world’s best business partner AND life partner!
Proud Parent Moment
Our son tested for his new Tae Kwon Do belt and passed! We try not to brag as parents, but we are SO SO proud of him! He has worked hard and has committed to practicing at home regularly. Watching him improve so much has been such a treat. It’s not that he passed, “leveled up,” or that his belt rank is “impressive” to others, but that he has overcome feelings of inadequacy and the desire to quit out of frustration. He has pushed past all of it and reached his own goals. He’s now half-way to his black belt and more motivated than ever! Congratulations Emmanuel! Keep striving toward your goals! We will always be cheering you on!

Woods or the Beach?
It is February in Michigan, but the last few weeks have felt like spring. I’m not fool enough to let myself get used to this; I know the snow will likely return. However, we are absolutely taking advantage of it. There is a lovely, wooded trail near our home that we quite enjoy walking on. The trail runs along the shore of two different lakes. Personally, if I could choose between the beach or the woods, I don’t even have to think about it. It’s the beach every time. Same with Mitch and Manny. We’d much prefer relaxing on the water than in the woods. Though, we enjoy both.
What about you? Are you a beach person or woods person?

What is the consensus here? Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day or no?
Mitch’s parents got married on Valentine’s Day, so we have seen it as their anniversary during our whole relationship.
Growing up, there were a few occasions we woke up on February 14 and found something special, but it wasn’t a regular thing. One year, my mom gave my sisters and I each a piece of jewelry that came from a family member before us. I was probably 9 or 10 years old when I woke up to this brooch. Years later, I still have it. I don't know the story behind the piece or who it belonged to before myself, but I know I received in on Valentine's day sometime in the 90s, as a way of my mom saying "I love you."
Last year we did something special for our son, and it was fun. Maybe we will make it an annual thing for him, or maybe it will only last a few years and it will fade.
What about you? What do you do for Valentine's Day?

What do we do?
We are both artists at heart, but we express our artistic skills in different ways. Mitch is very technologically savvy, which has aided him in website and graphic design, whereas I (Char) tend to be your typical “artist.” Drawing, painting, designing, creating… making something out of nothing, or creating something new from something old. One thing we are both passionate about is photography and videography. This is the one area we have worked together on sporadically, but we are now making it consistent.
Almost 14 years ago, we dropped two last names for one, and now we are dropping two business names for one… only took us this long to take the leap, lol. We are excited to bring you fun and inspiring content as well as share our family with you.

This is All Shores
Hi! We are Mitch and Char. And we are a husband-and-wife team known as All Shores Creative. When we got married in 2009, we had a lot of big dreams. Many played out, and even more didn’t. But we love the life we have built together. Combining our creative efforts has always been a dream and we are excited to finally do it. Up until now we have mostly done creative things separately, partnering up from time to time, but we are ready and excited to be going all in on this together!

:::: Long Post :::: 1/?
Tonight as I am sitting here reflecting on my journey into photography, I remember how much of a struggle it felt for me to take portraits of people. This was an internal struggle for me and I know looking back I did take portraits and shots of people right from the get-go.
Let's just back to the beginning.
In high school, I went on an exchange trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba for a school trip. When we were there I used a dozen or more rolls of film to capture my experience and moments of people to remember. Boy, I did not know that it would cost so much to get all this film developed. 😅
Fast forward a few years, I was in my second year of University at Kingswood University rooming with 5 other guys. I distinctly remember being encouraged to buy my first by a few of my roommates (Shane Grant Creative, Stefan Gilbert, and Zach Schible Thanks guys!).
So, that summer, after I made my first $600 dollar from my summer job, I went out and bought my and entered my journey into .
The first things that I began to photograph were landscapes. I did this because I felt that it was easier to arrange and it required less interaction with people. At this time I did not feel comfortable posing people and directing them into good poses. But I tried. And I want to say THANK YOU to anyone outside my immediate family that chose to have me photograph them in these early days of my journey into photography.
Since then, I have gotten much more comfortable with working with people and that has become much more of a passion of mine in photography.
BUUUUT, back to landscapes. I have always enjoyed photographing landscapes. It is something that I still do to this day. Below are a few shots that I have taken this past year. One of the great things that happened when I got my camera was that I started to see things around me in a completely different way. The frame of a shot. The perspective of a shot. How the landscape was composed and which ones told a story or looked just like a snapshot that anyone else would take. These were the foundations of this journey that started back in 2008.
My little Nikon D40 lasted me so much longer than it should have, getting 75000+ actuations (pictures) when it was only rated to get 50k. This was the beginning of a legacy.
In the next posts in this series, I will be sharing how my journey has progressed and how it has led to where I am today!
