Bravo to the City of Tucson - Government for keeping the shower truck going and ensuring basic hygiene for those without housing. Shout-out to the staff for treating people with compassion and empathy. Always good to see you folks! 💜
Tucson we can do better! This is not how we treat people who have already lost everything.
Where should they go?
Why are we more upset with people who have lost their homes than with the landlords who have dramatically raised rents, causing the person to become homeless????
It's not the city's job to fix this. These are our neighbors. It's going to take all of us to find solutions

Hundreds face homelessness in Tucson as sober-living venture fails

Z Mansion offers weekly meals and other supportive services
When: Every Sunday guests are welcome at 8am.
Located at 288 N. Church Avenue
Contact: (520)907-9057
Every Sunday at the Z Mansion they feed up to 200 friends. They prepare a beautiful brunch utilizing locally grown organic produce along with the freshest meats, eggs, cheese, pasta, bread, and more. There is no menu. No one decides what they will be preparing. Food is prepared in a licensed, immaculate kitchen overseen by volunteer chefs and volunteer food safety experts as hundreds of meals and sack lunches are assembled.
Comprehensive first aid services are available every Sunday. In addition, a WORKship spin off, the Community Emergency Medical Responders Foundation, performs first aid street patrols and trains medical providers in the intricacies of street medicine and health care for folks experiencing homelessness.
A separate area is stocked with clothing where guests can browse the racks for what they need. There is a "Shoe & Sock Station," as well as a "Children's Clothing Station" which are set up in the courtyard for easy access. For those unable to walk, personal shoppers go table by table to find those in need of extra support. Searching through supplies, they find clothing and other essentials, bringing them back to the waiting individual.
WORKship happily welcomes your furry family members. On Sundays volunteers bring bags of pet food and pet supplies to hand out to pet owners in need. These are vital supplies that help maintain the strong and important bond between owners and their pets.
This has all been accomplished through countless volunteer hours and the effort of our community, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, audiologists, physical therapists, paramedics, EMTs, EMRs, massage therapists, Reiki healers, Bowen practitioners, and many others.
