Having spent 20 years in the non-profit machine before starting RG I can attest to the truth of this. The people doing, or trying to do, the work may be amazing and truly dedicated, but in the end non-profits simply uphold the status quo, and they will very kindly crush your spirit while doing so.

Thanks to all the folks who checked in with us after the closure Sunday. The events that led to the complex being closed did not happen anywhere near our side, and there was no damage to our place. We are open once again and hope folks will come by, get a coffee and a book, and say hi!

Edit: We will not be opening today. We have been told that they will not open the center before evening.

We are closed at the moment, as are all businesses in the Mission Plaza complex. We have been told that we may be able to open after 1:00, but there is no guarantee. As you might imagine this is a huge loss for all of the small, locally owned businesses here. Please be patient with us, and please check back later today.

We have partnered with Community Care Tucson to set up a water station outside our shop. If you have spare reusable water bottles you can drop them off at the water station, and of you are thirsty feel free to drop by for a drink.
