Habitat For Humanity - University of Tulsa Chapter
Habitat For Humanity seeks to eliminate poverty and homelessness around the world. Groups that register will be provided with some cardboard and duct tape.
Here are some of the events that we put on over the academic school year:
Shack-a-Thon
Shack-a-Thon is a national event designed to raise awareness for the homeless by encouraging student groups to spend a night in a cardboard shack. Groups are encouraged to bring as much additional cardboard as they need. Competitions are usually held for the best shack built by organizations and non-organizati
Hello friends! HABITAT IS NOT DEAD. We're going to be getting the ball rolling here in a couple of weeks with a general meeting where we'll talk about builds that will be going on in the Tulsa area that you can help out with, so stay tuned for that! Invite your friends to like this page for updates and if you want to be added to our email list just send us a message!
Don't miss our meeting tomorrow at 9PM on the ACAC patio!
Also, if you're itching to get involved in Habitat, we need 15 volunteers this Saturday for a home rehab project. We will be doing painting and other renovations on an old home; the project starts at 8AM and free lunch will be provided! Message us if you're interested in coming out to help this Saturday.
Check out all of these awesome TU students! We had over 175 people sign up to join TU Habitat at last night's Activities Fair. We can't wait to see you all come out to build a home with us! We'll be having a general meeting soon with details about this semester's build and other events, so stay tuned!
Looking for a way to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity but aren’t available on Saturday mornings to come to our builds? Sign up to volunteer at the annual Habitat for Humanity Gala. This is an event put on by the Tulsa chapter of Habitat for Humanity as a fundraiser auction and dinner. Many big names in the Tulsa community attend and it is a fun evening for everyone involved!
The Gala this year is Saturday March 7th at the Southern Hills Country Club. We realize that TU Day of Service has been moved to this date as well, but for anyone concerned about scheduling conflicts, the two events will most likely not overlap! The Gala will run from 5 PM to 11 PM at the latest (although things usually wrap up much before this time) and volunteers will be provided with free dinner and snacks!
If you’re interested in signing up, put your information on the Google Doc below; if you have any questions or concerns please email [email protected]

Finals have started and the semester is almost over! While you're busy studying, consider taking a break to come build with us this Saturday. Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the semester before graduation, and we're excited to still be working with Tulsa Habitat to help our community! If you'd rather spend the day studying, consider joining us next semester instead! Keep an eye out for updates on this page.
From your TU Habitat for Humanity officers, we wish you good luck on your finals and a wonderful winter break!
Your H4H officers hope you had an excellent Thanksgiving break! Now that Turkey-day is over, it's time to get into the Christmas spirit. Join us this Wednesday, Dec. 3rd in the Sharp Chapel atrium @ 6 PM for our gingerbread house building contest! Remember, entry is FREE! Check out our Facebook and Ventfull events for further details.
Before the week is over, consider picking up a copy of the Collegian. Why, you might ask? Because they wrote an article about our chapter! One of the editors came out to our build last Saturday and talked to our secretary and treasurer. Want to know what they have to say? Check it out! The article is in the Nov. 17th issue.
Happy Friday everyone! Mark your calendars, because our next Winter Event is Wednesday, Dec 3rd at 6 PM!
At this event, rather than asking for cash donations for our chapter, we'll have a collection going of winter clothes and blankets to give to local homeless shelters in the area. They need gloves, coats, blankets, sheets, and even diapers! For all those that don't have a home, we'd like to give them a happy Christmas---drop by, have some fun, and help your community! See our Facebook event for more details.
Fund raising, fund raising, and more fund raising! Our Fall fund raiser is over, and we've begun planning for our winter one! If you'd like to help plan the event, come to our meeting in the Sharp Chapel seminar room next Wednesday, the 12th, at 7:30 PM--or you can email our treasurer at [email protected] if you can't make it!
We made over $200 at our pumpkin sale!! Thanks to everyone who helped out, whether it was buying a pumpkin, donating, or working the table. We're really excited to kick off the year with a great fund raiser!
We've still got about 20 pumpkins leftover. If you weren't able to make the sale but would still like a pumpkin, email our treasurer at [email protected] about when/where you can pick one up.
We made over $70 today at our pumpkin sale! Thanks to everyone who volunteered and bought pumpkins. We've still got a lot of pumpkins left, though! Be sure to drop by ACAC tomorrow between 11 AM and 1:30 PM to buy a pumpkin and carving kit. Remember, all proceeds go to charity!
Get excited everyone! Our pumpkin sale fundraiser is tomorrow! Drop by ACAC during lunch (11 to 2) for a pumpkin and a carving kit! $5 per pumpkin, and remember, it all goes to charity!
Because we've had such great volunteers, our first house is almost complete! Thanks to everyone who came to help! Starting tomorrow afternoon, we'll have a new build assignment! Email [email protected] for more info.
Hey everyone! Just a reminder we have our weekly build tomorrow. We will meet at ACAC or the Union around 7:45 to carpool over. Everyone and anyone is welcome!
