Be one of the first mental health professionals to learn how to treat child nightmares. This online evidence-based training will be offered on Friday, June 21st from 10am - 2:30pm CT on Zoom. Cost is $99. Sign up on Event Brite at the link above. The Child Nightmare Study at the University of Tulsa
About the trainer:
Dr. Lisa Cromer is a professor of psychology at The University of Tulsa, Executive Director of TITAN, and co-developer of CBT-NC treatment. She has served as PI or co-PI on three grants that have tested and refined the treatment so that it is now available for dissemination.
About the treatment:
CBT-NC uses cognitive behavioral strategies for improving nightmares and sleep-related problems. It incorporates aspects of Davis' Exposure, Relaxation, and Rescription (ERRT) therapy ( Sleep Strong: Nightmare Treatment Studies at the University of Tulsa) with CBT-insomnia for children, mindfulness, and imagery. Our studies show that children as young as 5 years old can benefit from treatment (with parent support), and that youth as old has 17 years of age see nightmare improvements. All participants will receive fillable PDFs of the child and parent workbooks to enable them to use the treatment with clients.
