Award-winning historian coming to campus!!

Congratulations to all of our history department award winners and Phi Alpha Theta inductees! We also honor Dr. Jeffrey Hockett, this year's winner of the Thomas Buckley teaching award.

History Club officers Madeline Jennings and Hannah Reeb and history major Alex Thomason raked in the awards tonight at the Research Colloquium banquet. Congratulations!!

We were honored to have Dr. Joe Gone of Harvard University help us launch the Historical Trauma and Transformation (H2T) minor. He talked a lot about Transformation, reminding us of the power of indigenous culture to heal.

New minor based on Indigenous trauma studies offered at TU TU is offering a new trauma studies minor based on the studies of Indigenous psychologist Joseph Gone.

Kudos to Andrew who received a dual degree in history and applied math!!!

Help us congratulate TU's Mortar Board! The campus honor society recently earned the national Freeman and Fox Most Improved Chapter award.
TU Mortar Board President Andrew Gray (BA '23) received the Starlington Prize, the highest award that Mortar Board presents to members.
The Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society recognizes university students for their exemplary scholarship, leadership, and service.

Dr. Wilson and history major Alex Thomason participated in the Reproductive Rights and Freedom Symposium which featured a keynote by historian Rickie Solinger. Thanks to the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities for organizing an incredibly impactful program.

NEW DATE!!! Join us for a special screening of a new PBS documentary that features our own Dr. Oertel! February 21st at 7 p.m.

It's a fan favorite! Dr. Bauer dressed up like a member of the French Resistance and gave a short talk on the history of Halloween to a large group of curious students. Tarot cards and treats too!

Dr. Oertel contributed to this new documentary on the iconic Harriet Tubman. Check it out on your local PBS station or via PBS.org.
