You locals will see many out of towners, some licensed, some not, most with big promises. Who or where they will be after the storm or when your claim has gone astray is a something to consider when choosing the right adjuster!

Contractors that tell you that they have a Public Adjuster in office with them could be committing a felony because public adjusters by law must work for you and be paid by you. It is illegal for public adjuster to work for the contractor. Be weary of contractor-public adjuster teams!

Additionally, contractors cannot negotiate, give you policy or claim advice. They are not licensed to work as a public adjuster and if they are licensed to work as a public adjuster they cannot work as your public adjuster and your contractor. It is a conflict of interest.

We are very sorry that your are experiencing this. Claim negotiations, settlements, deadlines, repairs, displacement, confusions is awful while experiencing a claim. Your commercial business and residential home is your life investment, utillize local professionals {public adjusters & contractors} and be aware, disasters bring panic and scammers who feed on panic.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE:

Happy Sunday! I hope you're staying warm! I had 20° at 7:00 am. Things continue to move about like they looked yesterday afternoon, per se. We're starting to see some light rainfall returns on the radar just to our south across Jasper and Newton Counties, as some models predicted yesterday, and that is expected to continue expanding northward as we get closer to lunchtime. The key word in all of this is "Light" though.
That said, the temps down in that area are still well above freezing as the cold air continues to establish itself. And, with as dry as the airmass is, I doubt much of this rain is going to reach the ground.
• Leaning on the idea that this process will only expand as the morning progresses, don't be surprised to see your phone's radar begin to populate as we move through the morning from south to north. But again, these should be very light returns.
• I still don't think folks (especially) north or even immediately south of I-20 will get above freezing this afternoon. So, anything that does drop, especially if it lands on an elevated surface, will be in no mood to thaw. So keep this top of mind throughout today and tonight.
• We'll have better lift in place overnight and through the morning hours of Monday and that should result in better production of precipitation which should overwhelmingly be Sleet for the Tyler, Longview, Jacksonville, Henderson area. The further north you proceed from those points, the more Snow should mix in. Inversely, as you move further south, a Freezing Rain theme will become more dominant.
• As of 7:30 am, the NWS has not made any wholesale changes to their outline of Warnings and Advisories. But, if this faster trend in precip. onset continues to appear, they have hinted at expanding the "Winter Storm Warning" further south later this morning. We'll see how the overnight models look as well as the radar trends over the next few hours. Regardless, ALL of our counties remain in some kind of Winter weather product with the majority being a "Winter Weather Advisory" for lesser impacts compared to those within the "Winter Storm Warning".

Winter weather is here, be sure to winterize your home if you have not been staying there. There is no coverage for busted pipes and resulting water loss in homes or commercial buildings if the place is unoccupied and/or does not have utilities unless all efforts have been made to winterize the building/s. Keep heat on at a reasonable temperature, wrap pipes or shut water off at main, drain pipes and properly winterize the structure. Do not use a generator in your home, keep the exhaust away from home and family. Expect power outages! Please stay warm and safe.
