East Texas Food Bank

The East Texas Food Bank exists to fight hunger and feed hope in East Texas. We provide over 27 million meals each year to familes, children and seniors.

Established in 1988, the East Texas Food Bank is the largest hunger-relief nonprofit in East Texas, covering 26 counties. ETFB works to feed our community through a network of 200+ partner agencies and feeding programs, strengthen families by providing nutrition education and benefits assistance and lead the community in hunger-relief work.

The East Texas Food Bank Resource Centers in Longview, Lufkin, Texarkana and Tyler will be closed Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st. Normal hours will resume Tuesday, September 24th.

The East Texas Food Bank is grateful to be recipients of the John Reagan Harris Grant Fund in Center, TX through the East Texas Communities Foundation. This grant of $9,000 will go to support food distribution for families facing hunger.

The East Texas Food Bank honored the Ground Floor Collective and Henry McCant with Hunger Hero Awards today as part of Hunger Action Month.
The Ground Floor Collective received the Community Partner Hunger Hero Award. The group unites and empowers communities by providing resources to East Texans.
Henry McCant with the Christian Pantry in Cass County received the Hunger Hero Lifetime Achievement Award.

The East Texas Food Bank Resource Centers in Longview, Lufkin, Texarkana and Tyler will be CLOSED Thursday, September 12th for staff training. All resource centers will be open their regularly scheduled hours on Friday, September 13th.

The East Texas Food Bank honored Chick-fil-A and the Episcopal Health Foundation with Hunger Hero Awards today as part of Hunger Action Month.
Chick-fil-A (CFA) stores in Tyler and Lindale received the Corporate Partner Hunger Hero Award for their continuing mission of partnering with the East Texas Food Bank. Owner/operators of the four stores include: Ikey Eason, Joseph Williams, Joshua Johnson and Jeff Johnston.
Episcopal Health Foundation (EHF) received the Foundation Partner Hunger Hero Award. EHF has provided the ETFB with over $450,000 in funding to increase access to SNAP assistance at our resource centers in Tyler and Longview.

The East Texas Food Bank honored UBank US today with a Hunger Hero Award as part of Hunger Action Month.

UBank received the Corporate Partner Hunger Hero Award. For the past five years, UBank has held the Good for Country concert in Lufkin with top country music artists raising over $116,000.

Thanks to Aracontinental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages employees for volunteering with us this week. Company employees have the opportunity to pick where to volunteer and we were thrilled they chose us!
Aracontinental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages also donated 600 cases of water to the food bank.

Thank you to Sprouts Farmers Market and Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation for a grant of $5,000 for our Healthy Cooking classes. These funds will provide groceries for participants to take home after each class. Almost 8,300 meals will be provided with this generous gift.

🎉 Thank you to everyone who donated for the 34th Annual Pantry Raid!🎉
Tyler High and Tyler Legacy schools in Tyler ISD raised a combined 117,243 meals for East Texans with $21,745 in monetary donations and 10,222 pounds of nonperishable food.
We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the students and staff who are helping fight hunger.

As part of Hunger Action Month, our ETFB Administration team joined volunteers to help distribute fresh produce items today at our monthly Lindsey Park mobile pantry site in Tyler. Over 670 households were served with nutritious items like potatoes, onions, salads, watermelons and apples.

Our "Spread the Love" Peanut Butter Drive kicked off today in Tyler with Mayor Don Warren and Longview Mayor Kristen Ishihara. This friendly competition will see which city can collect the most peanut butter during Hunger Action Month.
Jars will be collected through September 27th at Brookshire's, Super 1 Foods and Fresh by Brookshire's locations in both Tyler and Longview. You can also make a monetary donation at http://EastTexasFoodBank.org/pbdrive.
