Pumpkin Spice season is upon us.

Our Fall menu will officially launch Sunday September 1st, but for now please enjoy all things Pumpkin Spice.

Be the cool kid who brings locally brewed cold brew to the function 😉. A 1/2 gallon of concentrate makes 16 servings, depending of course, on how strong you like it.

Ask your barista about it next time you stop through.

For the past 2 years we have been blessed as a coffee shop to work alongside Monique. She came here at a tipping point in her life and now she has found a direction in the exciting world of traveling abroad teaching English.

While the loss of such a consistent hard working companion (and her baked snacks she’d bring to share) is going to be tough on us, we are ecstatic for her next steps and wish her all the best! 90° weather is upon but good news, so is our Summer Menu! We have brought some classics back and have introduced a few fun ones too. We’re probably most excited about our newest addition to the menu, the 1/2 gallon of cold brew concentrate you can take home and fix how you like!

From day one Eric has been with me. Literally, Eric was among the first baristas to ever work at Big Shot. It was immediately obvious this barista worked above and beyond the call of duty. Always on time, diligent, extremely customer friendly, I knew I had someone excellent and made the decision to promote them to General Manager by November of that year. Without a doubt this little business would not be doing as well as it is if it weren’t for Eric. For three and a half years we have worked together improving the store and admitably, myself and their presence will be sorely missed.

Please take a minute of your time tomorrow and swing by to say your goodbyes, or send a little farewell gift to their Venmo/Cash App or both!!

We’ve hauled in potable water and ice and are boiling everything as we go to wash dishes and hands in a million little electric kettles.

If you use Southern Water Utilities please boil your water! Unfortunately we cannot run our business without potable water. Our ice, our dishes, the regular rinsing necessary to run smoothly are all severely comprised.

We are currently out of power, as is most of Tyler it would seem, so we will be closing today at 11am till further notice.

Hello all!

This Tuesday at 5:37am our building was struck by lightening. Everyone is ok, but as you can imagine this caused a cascade of problems. To name a few, one of our front under counter fridges blew a fuse, our HVAC system went down, our alarm system had to be completely replaced, a copper waterline blew, and our modem and router fried, compromising our Wi-Fi access and phone.

Within days each of these problems have been remedied but one persisted, our Point of Sale was unable to process credit/debit cards. Now we were able ring up cash and run cards, but because the terminal was unable to connect to a network all of these swipes were stored but not processed. As in the customer’s payment was not being withdrawn from their bank accounts.

Now today, as of 11am, we have finally figured out the problem. Did you know electricity can travel through Ethernet cables and fry the printer which connects your terminal to your internet? I didn’t but now I do! What this means for you and why I’m making this post is that all of those purchases you’ve made all week at Big Shot will be withdrawn from your bank account all at once. We are terribly sorry for this! Please understand we couldn’t run business this week any other way.

We appreciate everyone’s patience with us this week, it has been trying. There are a few minor problems that persist even now but as of today we are back online and things are running much smoother.

As the owner, I would like to say thank you for being such and amazing group of people. Everyday we see the love y’all have for our drinks and my employees and it means a lot.

Part 2 to our barista appreciation post! Left to right we have Mattie (2.5+yrs), Eric (3+yrs), and Monique (2yrs). These baristas are our primary weekday folk and have definitely put in the hours up here at the shop. Next time you see them, be sure to say hi!

Save it in your calendar! This Saturday we will be hosting our monthly Poetry Night at Big Shot. Bring some prepared work or bring a friend but don’t come empty handed!

Remember, poetry is not the only written work accepted on poetry night. We have enjoyed short stories, journal entries, and book readings.

This type of lid is perfect for drinks that are better consumed too down; ie, martini espressos, caramel macchiatos, cold brew with cold foam, lattes with soft top. You get the idea.
