The word “no” is an entire sentence.

Being a recovering people pleaser, saying no felt like I was betraying other people, and I felt guilty for saying the word no to people.

I then started to recognize the people I couldn’t say no to, were the ones who didn’t give me what I needed. And being kind and being fake to myself was throwing myself under the bus and running myself over and over again.

You can still be kind and use your heart and still say no.

This two letter word is incredibly powerful to
✨remove negative people out of your life
✨to repel toxic clients
✨to dismantle your own limiting beliefs
✨say yes to yourself, and others who love you

I hope this two letter word helps you in areas you never thought possible.

💐In Loving Memory of Rumple🐈💐

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my beloved cat, Rumple. For 14 incredible years, Rumple was not just a pet, but my spirit animal, my confidant, and my unwavering companion. He fought valiantly against disease, medication poisoning, and more, embodying the spirit of a true fighter. His demanding yet endearing nature always commanded my undivided attention, and our bond was something many could not understand.

As a business owner, my days were often long and stressful, but coming home to Rumple was always the highlight. He had a way of making everything better, his presence a soothing balm to the chaos of the day. The cat nannies who cared for him in my absence poured as much love into him as they could, but it was always clear that Rumple and I shared a unique connection.
One week ago today, I faced the heartbreaking decision to put Rumple down after a tragic attack by a coyote. The pain of his loss is still fresh, and I miss him dearly. I hope that wherever he is now, he has all the feet he can possibly rub and smell to his heart’s content. I hope he has his favorite beef in gravy shreds and, of course, his beloved catnip.

I still have his toys, and I will share them with the other cats here in Florida, but none will ever replace my Booba. Rumple, you were the best boobie, and I am so sorry for how quickly you were taken from me. You are now reunited with your brother, Jenkins and Jasper, and I thank you for the best companionship in the world. You are so deeply missed, my sweet Rumple.

💐Remembering Jenkins💐

💔With a heavy heart and catnip, we bid farewell to our dear Jenkins. Losing him feels like losing a piece of our family, as he was so much more than just a pet.

⭐️Jenkins was a vital part of the Curly Hair Alchemist family, providing endless cuddles and support during our salon’s journey to success.

🫡He didn’t f**k around so when he gave orders, you listened. And somehow everything ran smoother when you obeyed Mr. Jenkins.

🫠As my faithful assistant in creating Welcome Curlfriend Packets, Jenkins was always by my side, offering comfort and encouragement when I needed it most.

Throughout the challenges of Covid, my hysterectomy, and horrible choices in men🥴, he and Rumple were my pillars of strength, helping me navigate through difficult times.

😻For those who have followed us over the years, Jenkins was a beloved presence in our lives. His charming features and playful antics made him the star of our social media content, captivating the hearts of many.

🥰His handsome chunky figure always attracted positive attention. Everywhere we went people fell in love with him.

🐈🐈His bond with Rumple was unbreakable, providing comfort and companionship during both dark and bright moments. Their brotherhood was unmatched. So loving, and so colorful.

💐On March 13, 2024, we said our final goodbyes to Jenkins, laying him to rest with a beautiful purple rose, a symbol of his love for flowers. His spirit will always live on in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire us.

☀️Florida was meant to be his retirement haven, and though his time with us was cut short, we are grateful for the love and joy he brought into our lives.

🥹Still to this day, he reminds me to take things lightly, fall asleep with a soft, warm blanket, and never settle for anything less than a plush pillow.

🙏🏼Thank you to everyone who has shared in Jenkins’ journey and showered him with love. Our family truly appreciate you.

🔥Heat damage is not a general result from using a diffuser

👉🏼“I’ve heard that diffusing causes damage.” This is what the internet’s general information is telling the curly hair consumers who sit in the chair.

🗣️They are learning that heat is bad. Diffusing with heat is damaging. Well, that’s just not true, and for the influencers telling their audience to buy a heat protectant product, unless you take all walks of life of curly hair clients on your YouTube channel and have receipts for heat damage due to diffusing, I’m going to need you to take a seat babes.

📣Being in the industry for 15 years as a curl specialist, never have I ever chopped off heat damaged ends due to diffusing the hair.

👏🏼Let’s 👏🏼Get 👏🏼Into 👏🏼It!

Heat can damage the fiber of the hair, it can cause your ends to lose their curls and compromise the hair to no longer have a healthy life span. However, heat is not the general reasoning behind the damage.

Let’s break down what types of examples heat damage;

✨1.Exposing your hair to an attachment that concentrates the air flow directly onto the hair, with a brush pulling the hair straight from wet to dry can damage the hair over time 👏🏼WITH SOMEONE👏🏼 WHO IS 👏🏼DOING👏🏼 IT 👏🏼INCORRECTLY could make your hair vulnerable to
-Breakage
-Change of curl pattern
-Or no change at all (yup it’s true)

✨When talking about diffusing, a diffuser attachment diffuses the air flow from the drier. 💡Think of diffused light, it’s soft and creates an ambiance in the room. Diffusing is gentle and was meant to prevent the curls from blowing around. Keeping them calm and in one place allows for them to dry in a way to prevent frizz and curl disruption.

We kind of died when designing our look

⭐️I remember being in my 20s and never feeling seen for a haircut that I had in my mind but I never met anybody to be able to execute it with my Curly Hair.

✨I met my client just this past week and she wanted a mullet and I wanted to give her something better. So I gave her a mullet fairytale.

🤘🏼And that’s THE haircut that she got to match her energy and I’m so excited to see how it grows out. I wanted to make sure that the mullet did not have really sharp lines because she is low density.

Well, here’s a small tutorial to create a cute bun with a faux bang!💁🏽‍♀️

1st step: Make a high pony tail and turn the tail forward placing it towards your face

2nd Step: Use a hair tie, leaving out the tail end, create a bun

3rd Step: pin your pieces in place to frame your face and you have a beautiful, easy to replicate look to go out, attend work meetings, or press down into your down dog in yoga.
