The Parks Dept is funded through revenues received from user fees and state and federal grants. The Department is not supported by local tax dollars.
User fees are retained by the Parks Enterprise Fund for maintenance and enhancement of rec facilities.

PCH Reduced to One Lane Overnight in Ventura County
VENTURA COUNTY — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) plans to reduce a section of Pacific Coast Highway (State Route 1) to one lane overnight with flaggers directing alternating traffic from postmile 21.3 (Mobile Pier Road) to postmile 28.4 north of Ventura for paving northbound lane beginning Monday, May 20. Signs will be posted. Motorists can expect delays.
Overnight PCH (SR-1) Northbound Lane Closure
• 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday to Friday — Except May 24-27, Memorial Day Weekend
(Work progresses in sections moving south from Mobil Pier Road.)
This pavement project is resuming after a temporary suspension due to a construction-related issue. It is expected to be completed in early June. All work is subject to change due to weather or construction-related issues. Residents and businesses located near the freeway may experience noise, vibrations and dust associated with construction activities. The closure may start or end later.

Great things are happening at Warring Park in Piru. Through State, Local and program-based grant funding, the community of Piru, in unincorporated Ventura County, will be receiving a new playground. This will be the first National Demonstration Site in County Parks and will feature elements that promote Physical Activity, Inclusive Play, music and more!

Thank you to those who have comments on how portable toilets should be arranged along the Rincon Parkway RV camping zone. After evaluating both sides of the requests, Ventura County Parks Department has returned four portable toilets throughout the camping zone. We will monitor the need for additional service days or need for more units in the coming months.
