The students and film participants of the course "Documenting Immigrant Experiences" and the Creativity, the Arts and Social Transformation (CAST) minor at Brandeis University are excited to invite you to our documentary film screening and panel discussion on Saturday, December 10th at Brandeis University.
This semester, with a grant from the Bahalim Fund donated by Brandeis alumnus Ammad Bahalim ('04), the course has focused on the experiences of members of local immigrant Muslim communities and their particular experiences in contemporary US society. The Bahalim Fund supports student led public events intended to combat Islamophobia and explore Islam as a tradition of learning and critical thinking.
Throughout the semester students have collaborated with the film participants to create short documentary films. Each will be followed by a panel discussion with the student filmmakers and the film participant featured in the film. Appetizers will be served! The event is free and open to the public:
