Hours: Full-time, pay scale based on experience and education

Paralegal/ Legal Secretary will be working closely with attorney(s). The position will require a great deal of contact with clients, courts, and other attorneys. Initially, the candidate would fulfill more of a legal secretary role. There will be some front desk, mail, and phone responsibilities, which will be explained in greater depth at the time of the interview. We are looking for someone who wants to learn our systems and procedures, about the legal profession, and grow into a paralegal we are willing to train.

Paralegal responsibilities will be much more involved and, once trained, will bring a higher compensation package. Primary work will be in drafting pleadings, discovery documents, letters, and witness affidavits, as well as preparing files for court. Other duties may be assigned as needed. This position requires attention to detail, organizational and communication skills, and comfort with new technologies; hence, why we prefer starting someone as a legal secretary.

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Applicants should have excellent communication and writing skills; a high degree of comfort with computers and technology is a must. Applicants must be responsible, hard-working, and enthusiastic, and must be “team players.” Preference will be given to candidates with office experience, particularly legal work. College degree desirable but not necessary.
