Over the next few weeks, our three clinics around Ocala and The Villages will experience a temporary reduction in schedule and capacity as we go through a provider transition. Dr. Thomas L. Johnson II and Josh Jurczak, NP will both be leaving our practice. Dr. Johnson will be available to see patients through September 19.
We’ve taken early action to ensure you have a seamless transition of care with the recent hiring and soon onboarding of two additional Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to our team, Amy Klimek and JoAnna Jensen.
While we actively recruit a new allergist, Board-Certified Allergists from other clinics within the AllerVie Health Network will be overseeing our Advanced Practice Providers to ensure you continue to receive the best care.
Our top priority is your continuity of care and continuing to meet your allergy and asthma needs. During the reduced capacity this summer, patients can schedule appointments (both new and follow-up) at any other AllerVie Florida location.
Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in our care. We are here to support you through this transition and ensure you receive the best possible care. For more details visit https://loom.ly/z6Q9k4E

Meet Malik Morrison, a long-standing team member at Premier Allergist and Regional Operations Manager of Northern Maryland and Pennsylvania. He works with clinics by coming alongside staff to address concerns, provide guidance, and foster a positive work environment. Not only does Malik develop patient experience strategies and optimize resources through clinic management, but he also oversees the regional call center, which handles the scheduling of 30 clinics!

As someone who has personally experienced the challenges of allergies and witnessed the impact of asthma on loved ones, he is passionate about AllerVie's mission of making a tangible difference in the lives of those suffering from these conditions. The opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to improving health outcomes and quality of life for this often-underserved population motivates him to be a voice of advocacy for patients. To Malik, the AllerVie core value of advocacy means more than just speaking up; it's about empowering others, being a champion for their needs, and ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.

In his personal time, Malik loves adventuring with his family! Some of their favorite destinations have been the waterfalls of Iceland, the lush scenery of Costa Rica, and the vibrant cultures of the Caribbean islands. When not globetrotting, you can usually find him cheering on his favorite football and basketball teams!

Malik joined the AllerVie family through our partnership with Premier Allergist in 2021 and we are grateful for employees like him who align with our core values and are determined to improve the health of as many people as possible!

Atopic dermatitis, commonly known as eczema, can be especially challenging in warmer weather. The heat often inflames the skin, leading to dry, itchy, and bumpy rashes that frequently appear on the hands, elbows, and knees, among other areas. The discomfort and pain from eczema can be overwhelming, especially when the skin becomes sore or breaks during hot conditions.

Despite its prevalence, affecting approximately 10-20% of children and 1-3% of adults, those who have it can be left frustrated with how to treat it and manage symptoms.

Read our guide to skin allergies https://loom.ly/ZtxDrhs to get started on a journey to happier and healthier skin.
