We welcome children of ALL abilities at Shepherd Park Children’s Academy. Our Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) program uses ABA therapy + interaction to support communication and social skills for special learners in a natural environment with children on and off the spectrum.

Our program is designed for curious minds who love exploring their world, our summer camp fosters each child’s natural curiosity through arts, sciences, outdoor exploration, and more. Campers spend their days engaged in hands-on learning led by experienced staff in a supportive, small student-teacher environment.

After taking off for Independence Day, we were so happy to get back to our weekly field trips 😀. This time we explored aquatics and all of the animals, plants and habitats that are a part of it. We traveled to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and Glen Echo Park Aquarium. We explored a marsh, learned how to pump water, learned all about sea animals and did art projects. We went on a field trip to the Sculpture Gardens in Washington, DC during Art Week and had a blast! We saw art by different artists and even got to sit on some of them! Can’t wait to visit again but looking forward to the next trip! 😀😎☀️

This week was all about art! We got to go to a cool museum with colorful paintings, explore the art of Claude Monet, watch performances at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and run through the sculpture garden. We can’t wait for our next trip!

July is UV Safety Awareness Month, and a reminder to keep safe from direct sun and to use products like sun block, sunglasses, hat or anything else in order to prevent from sunburns.
