🎉 Today we celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act! This landmark legislation has broken down barriers for millions of people living with disabilities.

While we've made significant progress in accessibility, employment, and equal rights, there’s still more work to be done. We will continue speaking out and standing in the gap for the most vulnerable members of our communities!

The people we support love volunteering! One of their favorite ways to give back to other community members is by collecting food donations for local food banks, making sure no one goes hungry.

Thank you, Trader Joe's, Insomnia Cookies, ALDI USA, and Chipotle Mexican Grill for your generous donations of food to our food pantry. This support ensures a child doesn't have to go to bed hungry, a neighbor doesn’t have to skip meals to afford rent, and a person experiencing homelessness can get nutritious food when they need it!

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end, it's important to remember that we don't always know what others are going through! For people like James, life can take unexpected and difficult turns.

James was struggling with addiction that left him homeless. He was using drugs and alcohol to mask the unimaginable grief and trauma he experienced after losing two family members.

Thankfully, he found safe shelter at the SJCS Emergency Shelter. Now, James needs help getting mental health support to move past his trauma and access to community resources to leave homelessness behind.

Help people like James by making a gift today that will remove barriers to mental health support and more. Give now: https://www.sjcs.org/mhamgive
