More than 300 families living in small villages in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine boarding Russia receive WCK food kits containing enough staple ingredients to make over 20 meals. These kits are critical—providing much needed support to those enduring constant shelling and scarce basic necessities.
WCK teams delivered food kits with more than 14,000 meals to Sadullapur, Bangladesh, which was heavily impacted by monsoon flooding. Many homes in this community were completely swept away in the floodwaters, and the local high school still has many classrooms underwater.
WCK is in Houma, Louisiana with our new Rapid Response Field Kitchen. Chef Alejandro and the team are preparing to serve thousands of meals to families recovering from Hurricane Francine. The menu includes comforting and familiar dirty rice and smothered chicken.
Shadi receives meals from a WCK Community Kitchen. She adds additional spices and mashes the balila—refining the recipe to the way she prepared it at home before the conflict. “Balila is one of the delicious traditional dishes we love. We always miss it in the difficult circumstances we live in. It is cherished by both children and adults, and it gives us a sense of comfort and warmth.”
Chef Carlos brought his food truck, El Mas Chingon, to Rancho Santa Margarita to support communities impacted by the Airport Fire. With the help of WCK, he cooked up delicious fish salad and steak & chicken quesadillas at a shelter for local seniors.

WCK’s Rapid Response Field Kitchen is in southern Louisiana where our teams are scouting hard-to-reach communities and providing meals to families impacted by Hurricane Francine. Built with the support of Dollar General, the vehicle enables us to cook thousands of meals immediately after a disaster.
In the wake of Hurricane Francine’s landfall, DG announced a partnership with World Central Kitchen, which will bring the DG-supported Rapid Response Field Kitchen to communities needing nourishing meals after natural disasters.
Currently stationed at a civic center in Houma, LA, we’re supporting our neighbors during this critical time to help feed and support the community, helping to recover from Francine.

WCK is providing food kits and fresh bread to families in Zymivnyk, a village just three miles from the Dnipro River that was liberated in November 2022. With the frontline so close, conditions remain dangerous. Our team delivers the food to a nearby location that's safer for collection.
This family had just five minutes to evacuate their home as the Bridge Fire crossed the mountains into their San Bernardino neighborhood. They stopped by WCK food truck partner Los Compadres Catering OC to pick up some delicious Mexican food along their evacuation route.
Before the war, Dr. Akram was a media professor—he now leads a WCK community kitchen in Khan Younis. He and his team use WCK-provided pellet stoves and ingredients to prepare hundreds of hot meals every day. They also have a small bakery to make saj, a traditional flatbread served with every meal.
Preparations to support families impacted by Hurricane Francine continued early this morning in New Orleans. WCK’s Relief Team is ready to distribute plenty of sandwiches and connect with local communities in need.

Student volunteers from Feni University help WCK Relief Teams distribute thousands of meals to schools being used as temporary shelters for families whose homes in southeastern Bangladesh remain flooded.
Ahmed and Saeed make the journey to a WCK community kitchen in Khan Younis every day. Ahmed shares, “We walk a long distance, but that’s not what matters—what matters is bringing food home to our family.” Saeed adds with pride, “We distribute it to our neighbors as well because we know that many families can’t get food on their own.”
WCK teams provide warm meals throughout Ukraine, where Russian advances are displacing a new wave of thousands of families. We are dedicated to supporting people on every stage of the journey from departure to destination.
WCK is distributing thousands of meal kits containing the equivalent of 50 meals each throughout southern Bangladesh. Multiple teams traverse difficult terrain to make the daily deliveries to hard to reach communities contending with floodwaters that have yet to fully recede.
WCK’s John checks in from southern California, where our teams are supporting communities impacted by the ongoing Line and Airport Fires. We are providing meals at shelters for families forced to evacuate and to first responders working to contain the blazes.
WCK’s Relief Team works with members of the local community to distribute food kits in Lalpur. Flooding forced families from their homes, decimated local crops, and damaged roads. Much of the area is reachable only on foot. All aid must be carried by hand or on small carts to our distribution point at a local school.
WCK teams are always working to identify people in need of nourishing meals and clean water. Zomi’s Kitchen cooked five additional large pots of rice and stew for a school and displaced Palestinians living camps in Qizan an-Najjar. This kitchen, led and staffed primarily by local women, is always prepared to do everything possible to serve the community living in and around Khan Younis.
WCK’s Relief Team delivered food kits to Barahinagar in southeastern Bangladesh. The 8,500 meals are the first form of aid to reach the community since the flooding began. Each family is provided with the equivalent of 100 meals—enough food to sustain five people for 10 days.
Mansour started working with WCK as a baker in southern Gaza. After fighting and evacuation orders forced us to pause work at our main Rafaf kitchen and bakery, Mansour relocated to one of our central Gaza kitchens where he supports all departments to help ensure as many meals as possible reach Palestinians in need.

Fires continue to ravage parts of the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, including Sviatohirsk, Yarova, and Studenok. WCK teams are working alongside emergency personnel to support firefighters as well as families displaced by the blazes. In Studenok alone, more than 300 homes, including some farms with livestock, have been destroyed. WCK and partners are providing hundreds of meals here each day.
Dalia was a university graduate who enjoyed doing voiceover work and horseback riding before the war. Now, she works at Zomi’s Kitchen providing essential support to fellow displaced Palestinians. Her goal is to increase the kitchen's capacity to meet the growing need for food and other aid in southern Gaza.
WCK's Community Outreach Lead Max is in southern Bangladesh, just east of the Ganges River. He's checking on several communities to see if they need meals and clean water. WCK has distributed more than 240,000 meals in southeast Bangladesh in the past 10 days.
A Russian strike in Kryvyi Rih damaged dozens of buildings, including apartment complexes, educational institutions, public facilities, and shops. While there were no fatalities, many residents are now missing windows, doors, or electricity at home. WCK’s Emergency Response team arrived at the scene of the attacks with hundreds of sandwiches, soups, cookies, snack bars, drinks, and hot meals.
Student volunteers from Feni University unload hundreds of meals at Silonia High School where families displaced by the flooding are sheltering. The college students are also working as translators, helping WCK teams communicate with the local community.
Hanan, a mother of seven, was forced to leave her home in Beit Hanoun 10 months ago and seek safety in Deir al-Balah. Hot meals and food kits from WCK have been a lifeline for her and other families living in displacement camps. “We didn’t know how we would feed our children after being displaced, but WCK’s support came when we needed it most,” she told us.
Hanaa and Maysaa are back at work in Zomi’s Kitchen preparing bread. WCK’s newest Field Kitchen reopened last week after being forced to close for a month due to active conflict in the area. Palestinians living in camps for the displaced in southern Gaza help deliver the traditional bread to their neighbors in hard-to-reach areas.
