PSR Board Member and Harvard Professor, Elaine Scarry incisively challenges and defeats the “logic” of nuclear deterrence theory by exposing its inherent contradictions and unrealistic assumptions in a new essay in the . Scarry profiles the critiques of deterrence made by former commander in chief of U.S. Strategic Command, General Lee Butler, which are previewed in these graphics of deterrences eight fatal flaws.
