Once again, is trying to undermine access to affordable, quality health care for millions of Americans. By overturning Chevron v. NRDC, they have opened the door for major challenges to existing health care programs like , and .

Let's be clear about what's happening here. has cleared the way for judges to make decisions about how vital government programs are run, instead of the health experts with decades of experience. Everything from public health to patient protections to free coverage for preventive services are now at risk and open to legal challenges that will jeopardize years of progress.

Families USA is constantly working to rein in abusive behaviors by big corporations that drive up health care costs for hardworking families, but today’s decision gives those corporations even more weapons in their arsenal to fight back against any attempts to limit their power and ability to jack up prices.

Uninsured rates reached an all time low in 2023, but latest projections indicate the percentage of uninsured will rise again through 2034, particularly in adults aged 19-44. attributes this increase end of Medicaid’s continuous eligibility provisions in 2023 and 2024 and the expiration of enhanced Marketplace subsidies, or APTCs, after 2025. It doesn't have to be this way! Congress could extend enhanced Marketplace subsidies or make them permanent, and ensure 12-month continuous eligibility for adults.
