On Tuesday, August 27th the Office of Council Member Farah Louis and Global Kids partnered to host a "Movie Night Under the Stars" featuring the 2023 box office hit “Barbie” at the Flatlands Reformed Church in Brooklyn for families in the New York City Council District 45 community.

Greta Gerwig’s award-winning film was chosen for the screening because of its emphasis on themes of female empowerment, self-discovery, and inclusivity. Families were treated to Barbie-themed giveaways, movie snacks and photobooth photo ops. It was truly a memorable under-the-stars experience for all attendees. Attention Class of 2025! The only way to be eligible for federal student aid is by submitting your FAFSA® form! Check out the helpful graphic above to familiarize yourself with the timeline for submission of the 2024-2025 FAFSA, then head to http://fafsa.gov to get started. Federal Student Aid

Photos from Global Kids - DC's post 07/26/2024

Happy ! Today we’ll be discussing the materials needed to fill out the FAFSA. First, you'll need your Social Security Number (or A-number if you are not a US citizen), as it's essential for your identification when creating a StudentAid.gov account.

If you have a Driver’s License, have that on hand as well; it’s another form of ID verification. Next, gather your Federal Tax Information from two years ago. This includes your W-2s and 1040 forms, which you’ll need for yourself and your parents if you’re a dependent student.

Finally, collect documentation of your parents’ cash, savings, checking account balances and investments (if applicable). A comprehensive financial snapshot will help accurately represent your situation and maximize your financial aid potential. Again, if you’re a dependent student, then you’ll also need this information from your parents. Visit FAFSA.GOV for more information to prepare you to apply for student aid. Federal Student Aid
