Lumina Foundation has announced the 10 finalists for its Million Dollar Community College Challenge, which will award one college a $1 million prize, and the nine runners up will receive $100,000 each to invest in branding and marketing at their institutions.

Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants (SCCTG) Funding Available
Yesterday, March 2, 2022, the Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) announced $45 million available to community colleges through the second round of funding for the SCCTG program.
This new round builds on the initial $40 million in grants that were awarded last year. The department will award grants of up to $1.6 million for single institutions and up to $5 million for consortiums, with up to $5 million designated to fund at least one affinity consortium grant.
To increase access to educational and economic opportunities – particularly for individuals from historically underrepresented and marginalized populations – the department will give special consideration to applications submitted by Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, Minority-Serving Institutions Programs or Strengthening Institutions Programs using the U.S. Department of Education’s eligibility indicators.
