Legionella was discovered after an outbreak in 1976 among people who went to a Philadelphia convention of the American Legion. Delta Omega is launching a fundraiser to support those impacted by the wildfires on the island of Maui. In addition to the tragic loss of life, and the destruction of homes and property, thousands of people have been displaced. Recovery will take many years.

The Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Omega at Drexel University’s Dornsife School of Public Health will be taking part in National Public Health Week by volunteering at a community-based organization called MANNA. The Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance or MANNA uses nutrition to improve health for people with serious illnesses who need nourishment to heal. Our group will work in the kitchen under the guidance of MANNA’s amazing chefs. Through chopping vegetables, packing meals, filling meal trays, making sandwiches, baking and more our group will help MANNA improve access to healthy meals for all!
