Today, I look forward to be at the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital Center 6:30pm-8:30pm for The Art of Healing Opening Reception.
Reflecting on the installation of this exhibition and recent deinstallation from my Artomatic exhibition, my heart is filled with gratitude and poignant memories. Among the most touching was the honor of conducting a tour for a group of Veterans, including a centenarian who, with his peers, brought the venue to life with their presence. This particular day was steeped in significance not just for the art on display, but for the profound connection it fostered among us.
The Healing Art Space, a dedicated area for military-affiliated members to showcase their work, was a focal point of our tour. Witnessing these veterans engage with the art was deeply moving. Their honest reactions and sharp wit brought a much-needed lightness to my heart, momentarily bridging the physical distance from my father in Singapore. It's in these moments that the true power of art—to connect, to heal, and to bring joy—is most palpable.
I owe a debt of gratitude to these veterans for their service and to the individuals like Nicolette Rubin, the committed nurse, and the dedicated driver who all go above and beyond to care for these heroes. Their selfless acts of kindness and dedication enrich our community and support these men in ways that are both big and small. As I look forward to reuniting with my 85-year-old father, my heart is full of thanks and anticipation, inspired by the strength and spirit of those I've had the privilege to meet through this artistic journey.

Welcome to Artvocate's page. Syahidah here. I am the founder of Artvocate. 2023 is the year for the Beta Test run on how I can help artists showcase their works. Thank you Orie Cezair, Ann Pham, Luke Walter, Hester Ohbi, Steve Mabley, and Bethany Lee for trusting me. Thank you Satarra Leona for believing in me.
My vision was to provide a platform for unrepresented artists. The world is full of wonderful artistic talents with tales that need to be told and too few spaces to showcase artworks.
Alongside the exhibition, I conducted a full art program where I introduced speakers to talk about their areas of expertise. They volunteered their time and shared their knowledge. Thank you Daniel Erbe, Linda Williams, Dr Bob Kellogg, Makya Little, Dr Lihsia Yeo, Salwa Salim, Shahrezad Ghayrat, Charles Sills and Neha Misra
With limited time, budget, and support from my family and friends, I accomplished what I intended. But Artvocate's journey had only just begun. I anticipate 2024 will be even "artsier". We have a piece of big news to share next January! So stay tuned!
Love, Syahidah
