ACC Leads Multi-Association Effort to Advance American Competitiveness - American Chemistry Council 07/17/2024

ACC and 12 trade associations are calling on Congressional Leadership to support the CRA disapproval resolutions against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s finalized HON rule. As finalized, this rule could limit manufacture of chemistries needed for critical sectors, including agriculture, semiconductor, construction, healthcare, cleaning, transportation, and oil and gas. We urge Congress to approve this bipartisan resolution and look forward to continuing to engage with EPA to develop science-based regulations that support American competitiveness. Read the coalition letter to Congress:

ACC Leads Multi-Association Effort to Advance American Competitiveness - American Chemistry Council “ACC and our members are committed to helping protect our employees and communities while continuing to provide the innovative products and materials made possible by chemistry,” said Chris Jahn, President and CEO of the American Chemistry Council.

The American Chemistry Council’s Formaldehyde Panel recently submitted comments to the EPA Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC), the EPA Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, and the EPA Office of Pesticides Programs on the 2024 TSCA Formaldehyde Draft Risk Evaluation.

The comments provided describe why the information the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is relying upon is not consistent with the best available science and how EPA can assess and integrate the available information on hazards and exposures, including what is known from centuries of real-world exposure to ambient formaldehyde, to make a reasonable determination of the appropriate risk level.
