Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting a plaque from the Congressional Record to Michael McKee, CEO of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, in honor of his 2024 John van Hengel Fellowship Award.

For over a decade, Michael has led the food bank, serving one of Virginia's largest regions. His leadership has resulted in tremendous growth, with expanded capacity, thousands served monthly, and millions of pounds of food distributed each year. Thank you, Michael, for your commitment to combating hunger in our community.
