GWMSPM is thrilled to continue hosting PMIWDC Washington Circle Luncheons on campus. On Feb. 27 we'll have the first series of DC Cloud and Cybersecurity Forum featuring Mark Forman, former Administrator for the Office of E-Government and Information Technology under President Bush.

The forum will cover issues that project teams need to address in order to achieve cost, security, and mission benefits in cloud initiatives. Please join us!

PMIWDC Washington Circle Luncheon: Cloud Computing & Cybersecurity | School of Business | The George Washington University Hosted by the GW Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) program, the PMIWDC Washington Circle Luncheons are a series of free brown bag luncheons featuring industry experts in project management. This luncheon features Mark Forman, vice president of digital government for Unysis.

Graduating MSPM students visited a brewery in DC this past weekend to learn how to start and run a brewery. They will share what they learned and incorporate everything in their handbook project as part of fulfilling the capstone course. Kudos to all of them as they complete their last course in the program!

MSPM Program Earns PMI Accreditation

GWSB’s Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) program last week was fully accredited by the Project Management Institute Global Accreditation Center (PMI GAC). The accreditation will be in effect for five years.

“Congratulations to Dr. Homayoun Khamooshi and our dedicated MSPM faculty and staff for earning this prestigious accreditation,” GWSB Dean Anuj Mehrotra said. “We’ll continue to ensure that our project management program is among the best available anywhere.”

The GAC is the world’s leading specialized accrediting body for project management and related degree programs, accrediting programs at the bachelor’s, postgraduate and doctoral levels offered within accredited institutions of higher education worldwide.

Did you do anything fun over the weekend? We did! GW MSPM program participated in the 2018 Annual PMI Symposium last Friday. There were at least 1,500 Project Management professionals who attended the event. We want to give a shout out to the GW Project Management Association (student organization) for helping us staff our booth and for attending the workshops at the symposium.

Late post: Orientation day can be terrifying sometimes. You go in a room with unfamiliar faces, you hear about the challenges being in a graduate program, you realize you're about to give up so many things to earn your masters degree.

Thank goodness you have all these wonderful alumni and current students to welcome you, give you a pat on the back to reassure you, "it's all worth it" and they're there to support!
