We are so excited for Book O' Ween this Thursday! Classrooms have a fun-filled day planned, and we invite you to our annual parade to kick off the festivities:

9am: PreK-3 and PreK-4 will parade around the oval in the back of the school, come cheer them on!
9:30am: K-5th grade classes will have their parade. This year, they will parade out the oval doors, up the driveway, and to the left and up the sidewalk by the front of the school. Students will re-enter the school through the front doors and head back to class to celebrate. Gather anywhere on the parade route for K-5th grades!

The Van Ness Fall Fest is Today!!

There is something for all ages! GAMES, PRIZES, MUSIC, FOOD, BAKED GOODS, AND MORE!!
ENTRY IS FREE!

Your little ones should have come home with an orange flyer with 3 free tickets attached that can be used for food and games. There will be tickets available for purchase on site.

The event is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Van Ness Oval and parking lot (behind the school).

Sign up is now open to participate in the Fall Festival Bake Sale and Competition! Your treats will be sold as a fundraiser for the school during the Fall Festival on October 27th. Entries will be judged and winners will be announced during the event.

Please package your treats individually, at least 24 servings, and plan to drop them off at school the morning of the Fall Festival on Sunday, October 27th. Sign up deadline for the competition is Wednesday, October 23rd. (Competition not your thing? You can opt out and still contribute!)

Hello Kids On Ice After School Club Families and welcome to the second year of the Kids On Ice After School Skating and Activities Club at Canal Park Ice Rink!

For the 2024/25 season, our After School Club will meet from 4pm to 6pm, Monday through Thursday, from Monday, December 2nd to Thursday, February 27th (excluding DCPS school holidays). Monday and Wednesdays will be dedicated to skaters in grades 2 (7 years old) to 10 (16 years old); and Tuesdays and Thursdays will be dedicated to skaters in grades 6 to 10 only. In addition to ice skating instruction, there will be plenty of time for games, homework help, mentoring, snacks and hot cocoa. (Please make sure to note on your registration if your skater has any food allergies!) On Thursdays, KOI® coaches will chaperone field trips to various enrichment activities that are within walking distance of the rink or Metro accessible.
