Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., was able to leave another economic impact in Indianapolis with the donation of over $126K to Project Period!

Project Period currently serves 275 unique schools as well as 40 community-based organizations through our PQC program.

So far, Project Period has distributed 250,000 menstrual hygiene products to unique schools and 65,000 menstrual hygiene products to our PQC participating organizations.

Yolanda "Yo-Yo" Whitaker, an internationally acclaimed rapper, actress, and entrepreneur, known for her role as a trailblazer in hip-hop. Whitaker’s dynamic career is marked by her significant contributions to the music industry and her unwavering commitment to social advocacy. Whitaker is a vocal advocate for education and women's rights. Whitaker has a passion for mentoring young girls with the IBWC (Intelligent Black Women’s Coalition), teaching youth about the music business with the YoYo School of Hip Hop, and educating students on How to Get A’s in English Through Hip Hop as an ambassador for the National College resource Foundation and Black College Expo and Latino College Expo. Yo-Yo will support the sorority through Zetas Helping Other People Excel (Z-HOPE™), and Zeta Youth Affiliates.

Telita Crosland, a highly respected figure in military medicine, has made significant strides in improving the healthcare system for the United States Army. As a key leader, her innovative approaches to healthcare delivery have enhanced the quality and efficiency of medical services for service members. Crosland’s career is marked by her ascent to high-ranking positions within the Army Medical Command, where her decisions have influenced policy and operational excellence. Crosland also earned the distinction of being the first Black Woman to serve as the Director of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Her exemplary service and dedication to the health and well-being of military personnel reflect her deep commitment to the nation’s armed forces, setting a benchmark for medical professionals everywhere. She will align her passion to the Military Appreciation Program, Women Veterans Rock!, and Zeta Organizational Leadership (ZOL) initiatives.

On July 27, 2024, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, one of the country’s largest women’s service organizations, announced the induction of 15 prominent and distinguished women as part of the 2024 class of Honorary members. Today, the Sorority is delighted to announce the expansion of the class to include three additional distinguished women who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to civic engagement and the advancement of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

International First Vice President for Membership Gina Merritt-Epps, Esq. emphasized, “Zeta continues to showcase our commitment to excellence and leadership with the induction of unique and trailblazing women through undergraduate chapters, graduate chapters and honorary membership in Alpha Omega chapter.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awards program, known as the Gold & Platinum Program, recognizes artists for their success in the music industry based on the number of albums and singles they sell.

Pennsylvania State Representative, Regina Young, was elected to represent the 185th Legislative District in November 2020, where she was the first Black woman to serve in the role. She is a community organizer, former educator, social service worker, and certified HIV and grief counselor. Before running for office, she was a community schools coordinator in the Philadelphia Mayor’s Office of Education. She founded and served as executive director of Empowered Community Development Corporation, an organization that helps establish community programs identified as needed by community members.

Renowned for her contributions to the R&B and neo-soul genres, Stone’s music has resonated with fans for decades. Perri Shakes-Drayton is a British retired track and field athlete. She was the 2013 European Indoor Champion in the 400 meters and won a 2012 World Indoor Championship gold medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay. Perri has also won silver and bronze medals in the 4 × 400 m relay at the World Championships. The GLL Sport Foundation (GSF), the UK’s largest independent athlete support program, has appointed her as a member of its board. Perri is also a top fundraiser for Tommy’s The Baby Charity (equivalent to March for Babies), which does great work in researching causes and treatments to save babies’ lives and providing trusted pregnancy and baby loss information and support. Ms. Shakes-Drayton, will align her passions with the March of Dimes and Zetas Helping Other People Excel (Z-HOPE™).
