July 10th is the Korean National Ballet Gala performance at the Kennedy Center! 🇰🇷 TWB dancer, Eun Won Lee, spent 6 years dancing with KNB before transitioning to The Washington Ballet. Take a look as some of her beautiful show shots (as well as those of partner Ariel Martinez) and more above! 📸

The gala will feature Eun Won as well as principal dancer Hee Seo (of the American Ballet Theatre) as special guests, symbolizing the enduring cultural bonds between our two nations.🇰🇷🇺🇸

Eun Won (partnering with Ariel Martinez of TWB) will unveil a compelling ballet piece entitled “Finding Light” choreographed by Edwaard Liang, Artistic Director of The Washington Ballet. Meanwhile, Hee Seo (partnering with Aran Bell) will captivate audiences with a performance of the pas de deux from “The Seasons: Summer” choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky.

This unique gala performance will offer a rare glimpse into the trends and techniques of Korean and American ballet, fostering a platform for cultural and artistic exchange between our two nations through the medium of dance.🩰🎵

“George Lee is an 88-year-old blackjack dealer who still works five days a week, a beloved figure in the pit of a downtown Las Vegas casino.

None of the card players-and few of his coworkers-know of this humble man’s astonishing background: a child dance prodigy and refugee from Shanghai who became a teenage sensation in the original staging of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker exactly 70 years ago, performing the “Tea” divertissement.

The film is a tale of talent and perseverance in the face of hardship, and a reminder of the extraordinary stories behind”
