Supreme President Savas C. Tsivikos, while visiting the Thessaloniki international trade fair, had the opportunity to briefly meet and discuss upcoming events with the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece.
The Order of AHEPA has worked side-by-side with the Greek Govt of many issues in the past and looks forward to continuing this relationship.
The Supreme President thanked district 25 for hosting a booth at the fair which was visited by both our Supreme President Tsivicos and Prime Minister Mitsotakis.
We are extremely pleased our supreme president had the opportunity to meet and talk with many individuals in government and business, while attending the fair in Thessaloniki . 
The Supreme President eagerly looks forward to returning back to the USA to maintain and increase his visitations to our chapters.
The AHEPA family mourns the passing of U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr., of New Jersey, a longtime member of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues and champion of legislation that became law to award posthumously Constantino Brumidi ('the Artist of the Capitol") with the Congressional Gold Medal.

Brother Kaitson was surrounded by 4 Past Supreme Presidents (Karacostas, Hollister, Zacharides and Horiates), members of the AHEPA Supreme Lodge, Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge, and members from across the AHEPA domain whose lives Brother Phillip had impacted.

Supreme President, Savas C. Tsivikos attended the worldwide conference of Cypriots in Nicosia this past week.
The conference ended on Friday where the supreme president sat on a panel with the minister of foreign affairs, Minister Constantinos Kombos and Kyriakos Papastylianou president of the Federation of Cypriot organizations. The panel was lead by President of the Justice for Cyprus organization and Ahepa brother Philip Christopher of New York.
Supreme President Tsivicos drove the message home that no resolution to the Cyprus problem can come without the total and immedeate withdrawal of Turkish occupying forces from Cyprus.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Brother Phillip T. Frangos, a revered leader, who served the Order of AHEPA as Supreme President and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Brother Phillip, a Life Member of Wolverine Chapter 142, Lansing, Michigan, passed away, July 27, 2024, just one day after the conclusion of the 102nd Supreme Convention in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The 2024 AHEPA Supreme Convention in Larnaca, Cyprus hosted its Grand Banquet and Ball last evening outdoors on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea. Over 550 convention delegates, alternates, AHEPA Family members and friends were in attendance in addition to members of the government of Cyprus.
Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos was honored to bestow the 2024 Socrates Award to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides. AHEPA was honored not just to have the President join us, but multiple representatives of Cypriot Ministries including Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis and Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeades. We were also honored to host Lt. General Georgios Tsitsikostas, the commanding general of the Cyprus National Guard.
The evening’s speakers included United States Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, Daughters of Penelope Grand President Marianthi Treppiedi, and Sons of Pericles Supreme Treasurer George T. Horiates. AHEPA District Governor of the Year, George Kallenos, served as Master of Ceremonies.
It was by far a most impressive and picturesque evening.

Larnaca, Cyprus
The Order of AHEPA held its annual Supreme Convention in Larnaca, Cyprus this past week. Hundreds of delegates and officers flew across the Atlantic to come and bring necessary attention to the travesty which has been largely unresolved on the island nation since 1974.
Newly reelected Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos, a native of the island, was quick to reference “Cyprus has been left virtually unaddressed by the world community until recently. We look forward to the eventual resolution by the reunification of our homeland.”
The Supreme President was reelected unanimously on July 25, 2024, as were other members for the upcoming year. The 2024-25 Supreme Lodge officers for AHEPA are:

Additionally, The Order of AHEPA also had annual elections for other offices which are voted upon annually. The AHEPA Board of Trustees members elected for a three-year term were:
Past Supreme President George Horiates and Lou Atsaves. The Board will have their first meeting in September in Washington for the District Governors Conference September 20-22, 2024.
Craig Clawson was reelected to another 3-year term on the AHEPA Board of Auditors.
AS we conclude the weeks events, we look forward to the forward momentum created by the Supreme Lodge and elected members of the AHEPA to propel our fraternity forward.

After a wonderful Athletics program honoring student athletes from around the world, over 300 Ahepa Family delegates packed the Radisson Beach Ballroom in Larnaca to honor three individuals with scholar awards.
At 5pm Ahepa Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos introduced Washington, DC based Brother John Sitilides to moderate an “Ambassadors Panel” dealing with the current situation in the Southeastern Med. Ambassador Andreas Kakouris who represented the Foriegn Minister of Cyprus, Ambassador Julie Fisher of the United States and Ambassador Papameletios of Greece discussed topics affecting regional security issues including the current tensions in the region.
A spirited discussion and Q and A ensued. Another great event at Ahepa Convention 2024.
A Taste of Cyprus! Ahepa Supreme Convention Tuesday night hosted by the Deputy Minister of Tourism. Over 500 Ahepa members attended a spectacular dance with local delicacies. Food was abundant and Kefi was King.
Supreme President Tsivicos welcomed everyone to the spectacular evening. Honorees included the Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras; Kostas Koumis Deputy Minister of Tourism; Photis Photiou; and President of the Cypriot Parliament Annita Demetriou.

Rentschler Foundation announced a $200,000 donation to the AHEPA Journey to Greece Program for the 2025 Academic year at the AHEPA supreme convention in Cyprus.

Ahepa Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos heads the Ahepa leadership team to a ceremony held at the presidential palace in Nicosia Cyprus honoring those who perished 50 years ago in defense of their country’s sovereignty.
1974 marks the Turkish invasion of Cyprus taking 37 per cent of the island and creating an illegal state.
“We will never cease to insist on freedom, reunified, while Cyprus, with the removal of the 40,000 Turkish troops still on the island” stated Ahepa Supreme President Tsivicos.
While we're just two days from the start of Supreme Convention in beautiful Larnaca, Cyprus, AHEPA's Junior Orders held a Stateside convention in collaboration with AHEPA Senior Living in Nashville, TN last weekend, and elected their 2024-2025 lodges. SOP Supreme President Alec Economakis of Washington, DC was elected to a second term, and the Maids of Athena elected Stephanie Owens of Chicago, IL to serve as their Grand President. Congratulations to the incoming presidents and their lodges as well as the outgoing lodges!
Congratulations are also due to the brilliant students who participated in the National AHEPA Hellenic History Tournament, which also took place last weekend in Nashville. The winners of this year's Nikas Cup were the Hellenic Heroes team from Schenectady, New York!

Supreme President Tsivicos, along with Supreme Counselor Frangos, Chairman of the Board Karacostas, PSG Alex Soles and PSSOP Advisor Nick Kavadas aboard the USS Midway, now a museum, last night at the 47th Biennial Clergy Laity Congress in San Diego, California. As one of the longest-serving aircraft carriers in the U.S. Navy, the Midway offers an immersive experience with over 60 exhibits and 29 restored aircraft. Visitors can discover what life was like for the thousands of sailors who lived and worked on this floating city. The USS Midway is more than just a museum; it’s a tribute to the bravery and dedication of the U.S. military.

Earlier tonight at the Grand Marquis Banquet center in Old Bridge, NJ Ahepa was honored at the Annual Hermes Expo. An impassioned orator, Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos, accepted the Hellenism Award on behalf of all Ahepans and welcomed all to the highly anticipated Supreme Convention in Cyprus July 21-27.

They made it! The AHEPA Journey to Greece class of 2024 have arrived in Athens! Following a welcome reception yesterday evening, where they were welcomed by Secretary General for Greeks Abroad John Chrysoulakis, AHEPA Supreme Governor Basilio Petkides, members of the Webster University Staff and others, the students had orientation for their classes this morning. They will be participating in classes for the next few days before their excursions begin over the weekend!
AHEPA Supreme President Savas C. Tsivicos and the Order of AHEPA mourns the loss of Constantine (Dinos) Iordanou, a dear friend and supporter of the organization. Tsivicos deeply valued their personal relationship and admired Dinos' unwavering dedication to the Greek Cypriot American community. His memory and contributions will forever be cherished. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his loving wife, Marianne, his daughters, and his entire family during this difficult time. May his memory be eternal!
