Formerly known as GLOV, DC Anti Violence Project works to address all forms of violence against the LGBTQIA+ community.
The primary mission of the DC Anti-Violence Project (DCAVP) is to work to reduce violence against LGBTQIA+ individuals (and those perceived as LGBTQIA+) through community outreach, education, and monitoring cases to ensure that the rights and dignity of LGBTQIA+ victims of violence, trauma and abuse are respected and protected. The DC Center is hiring a part-time Case Worker & Advocate!
The CWA is part of the DC Anti-Violence Project and provides needs assessment, information and referrals, and advocacy for LGBTQ+ survivors of trauma, violence, and abuse in the DMV area. The CWA also provides community leadership in collaboration with survivor services providers to strengthen appropriate and effective response of LGBTQ+ competent service provision to LGBTQ+ trauma survivors in the District. This position offers 30 hours a week at $35/hr with benefits.

LGBTQ-welcoming IPV support group:
The Wendt Center has a few additional spots open for the next Intimate Partner Violence Support Group. This virtual 12-week support group for survivors of intimate partner violence will be facilitated by Claire Bernstein, LICSW. The group be held on Thursdays at 5:30pm on Zoom, starting on September 22nd. The group is open to adult survivors who identify as women and are currently in or have previously been in a violent or abusive partner relationship.
