Our Managing Partner, Kerri-Ann Nesbeth was in the Bay Area this week at the annual summit conference! It was great collaborating with fellow leaders and uncovering impact from innovative solutions — such as strategic staffing and the integration of generative AI — to increase equity, inclusion, and accelerate impact.
We’re leaving the Bay feeling HOPEFUL about schools’ ability to navigate the fiscal cliff while continuing to prioritize comprehensive and equitable talent management. 🙌

“From the very beginning, we felt passionate about developing the next generation of EdFuel leaders, knowing that in many ways our success would be defined by how prepared the organization was for its next phase.” - Kelly Gleischman, Outgoing Managing Partner
Kelly shares more about the journey to create our distributed leadership model and how we approached our succession planning work. Check out her thoughts about the road to get to where we are today and all of the lessons learned along the way at https://bit.ly/3JCeXVL
We have news! 📣 It’s officially time to pass the torch: Last September, Managing Partner Kelly Gleischman shared with EdFuel’s Board of Directors that after eight and a half years leading EdFuel, she will be stepping down as Managing Partner at the end of June. During her tenure, Kelly has led our organization to more than triple our impact on schools, districts, and nonprofits across the country, all while cultivating a deeply collaborative and sustainable culture for our team. We will miss Kelly greatly but cannot wait to support her in her next adventure!
We are also beyond thrilled to share that with enthusiastic and unanimous support from our Board of Directors, Kerri-Ann Nesbeth will become EdFuel’s next Managing Partner, effective July 1, 2023. 🎉 Over six years at EdFuel, Kerri-Ann has served in the roles of Director, Managing Director, and Partner, leading some of our most important internal initiatives and external engagements with partners. Kerri-Ann’s unique knowledge of school system needs, decisive leadership, and forward-thinking vision makes us confident in her ability to lead EdFuel into its next phase.
This transition marks the culmination of more than six years of intentional succession-planning led by EdFuel’s Partner team, which included Raven Freeman and Mary Mason Boaz, and supported by the full EdFuel Board of Directors, chaired by Jessica Cunningham Akoto. As a talent organization, we believe deeply in practicing what we support our partners to implement: equitable, inclusive practices that create a safe, sustainable, and supportive environment for team members to grow and develop. Our leadership team is comprised entirely of leaders who have grown from within EdFuel: in addition to Kerri-Ann, Kristina Campa-Gruca (Partner), Cortney Graham Ameckson (Managing Director of Finance and Operations), Rachel Nozari (Managing Director of Talent), and Nicole Pratt (Managing Director of Talent) have all served in multiple positions at EdFuel over the years.
This phenomenal group of women, in combination with our entire EdFuel team, has been supported to grow into these roles in preparation for leadership transition. Kelly, Raven, and Mary Mason intentionally sequenced their transitions over the course of the last year to make room for the next generation of EdFuel leaders to take the helm, allowing this transition to strengthen our organizational culture rather than detract from it. We are deeply grateful for their work and hope that we can continue to support other organizations with this type of succession-planning process.
Please join us today in celebrating both Kelly’s legacy and Kerri-Ann’s promotion. 🥳Our team couldn’t be more excited about the road ahead!

In this month's Talent Talks Blog post, Ashleigh Phillis, Director, discusses how school leaders can build commitment among their staff as soon as a new hire accepts an offer with a strong onboarding process. Ashleigh writes, "The lack of communication between newly hired teachers and school leaders can lead to uncertainty on both ends. By creating an onboarding process that includes an intentional cultivation phase that includes ongoing communication and touchpoints through the spring and summer, school leaders show their commitment to their new hires."

Our Story
We’re all about the people. EdFuel is a national nonprofit that helps education organizations recruit and retain top talent at all levels. We offer a range of programs and services from ready-to-use tools to full-scale talent management solutions for schools, networks, districts and education non-profits.
EdFuel supports single site schools, charter networks, traditional districts, and education nonprofits with talent management needs of all types. On the systematic side, we design the tools and processes that education organizations need to implement strong, equitable and inclusive talent management systems. Our work spans all aspects of the talent cycle and we have extensive experience in the following areas: competency mapping, recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, professional development, performance evaluation, compensation and benefits, succession planning, and holistic organizational culture.
But we know that systems are only part of the solution. Much of the challenge is adaptive: the ability of organizational leaders to effectively implement talent management systems with consistency, fidelity, and in a way that preserves strong internal culture. EdFuel designs tailored training and support systems that build the capacity of the organization to sustain strong talent practices without us.
EdFuel works with organizations nationally, and has offices and city-wide engagements in Washington, D.C. and Detroit.
