First of all, I just want you all to know how sorry I am for not being present the last few weeks. As some of you know, I struggle heavily with mental health. As of late, it completely took over and I had a serious incident; which lead to making the decision to check myself into a mental health facility. Unfortunately, it happened so abruptly I wasn't able to reach out to most of you. I will be returning as soon as possible, and when I do I will reach out. Stay tuned for an update.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience I caused in your lives.

With an extremely happy heart, I am here to announce the re-opening of SolStone MT!⁣

Over the last couple of years, I personally have learned a lot which brought on a tremendous amount of change and growth. Not only have I dialed in what I want for myself, I have truly figured out the nature I want to invite into my space and heart.⁣

Massage is a deep healing experience that incorporates an energy transfer from client to massage therapist and vis versa. As the massage therapist, I have to be extremely cautious about the energy I take on and more importantly give. That means being open and honest with the clients I invite into my space. ⁣

As this world and community struggle with inclusion, diversity, equality and acceptance; I will continue to fight for humanity. ⁣

With that being said, from here on out SolStone will be a place of inclusivity. A place to feel seen, heard and safe for those that don’t have that on a daily basis. ⁣

My heart and soul are here full heartedly to create a safe space for bodywork that leads to a healing journey for all of you who have read this post and fully understand and support where I am coming from. ⁣

Cheers to a new chapter of SolStone MT! ⁣

❤️ 🧡 💛 💚 💙 💜 💜 💙 💚 💛 🧡 ❤️

While in the process of expanding, I have thought about doing a rebrand as well. This logo represents SolStone; and honestly, I can’t imagine changing it. ✨⁣

But, I would love to hear your thoughts about doing a little revamp! 🗣👂🏼 ⁣

So, leave a 💙 to keep it as is or a 🌊 if you think a little revamp is a good idea! Your thoughts are so appreciated, SolStone fam. 🤟🏼⁣

The magic of bodywork ✨⁣

I love when the client not only FEELS the difference, but you can SEE it as well. I would say 100% of my clients struggle with neck and shoulder tension. Gravity, stress, poor posture and repetitive moments throughout the day are only a few reasons why so many people struggle with pain in the upper body. ⁣

Something I constantly remind my clients - it takes years to wind up the body, so remember that it will take consistent bodywork to unwind the body. I also highly recommend doing self care outside of the treatment room to help your muscles continue to relax. Ways to do this — ⁣

🌞Stretch/yoga ⁣
🌞Rest days ⁣
🌞Chiropractic ⁣
🌞Stay hydrated ⁣
🌞Listen to your body ⁣
🌞Epsom salt baths ⁣
🌞Sauna ⁣
🌞Reduce stress ⁣

If you have found your perfect remedy to keep your body pain free, let me know in the comments! ✨

You can find me in this studio every Wednesday morning, and when I am lucky, Friday mornings as well. 💪🏼⁣⁣
⁣⁣
hasn’t just been there to strengthen me physically, but emotionally and mentally too. Today was my last session in the studio since baby G will be arriving any day now! 💙 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Lainey, I am beyond appreciative of the friendship we have created. It’s so refreshing to have another likeminded boss babe in my life to talk me off of that ledge from time to time. ✨ ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I will sure miss our in person sessions, but will be so excited to return! It’s been especially helpful during these stressful times of transition; and honestly, don’t know what I would do if I didn’t get to sweat it out in this studio. 🙌🏼⁣

Here is to growth and so much of it! 🌱

It has been proven that 80% of Americans experience back pain or sciatica at one point or another in their lives, so here is a little sciatic nerve knowledge to fuel your Monday! 🧠💡⁣

Fact #01 - Not ALL leg pain is considered sciatica. If you are feeling pain from the glutes/piriformis radiating down the back of your leg, it could be piriformis syndrome. But, if you are experiencing pain starting in the upper part of the hamstring and down, it could be hamstring syndrome. A true sciatic symptom starts at the middle glute region and runs down the back of the leg, commonly past the knee and down through the calf. ⁣

Myth #02 - If you are experiencing sciatica, you should stay in bed and rest. ⁣

Fact #02 - Stretching, walking and avoiding excessive rest will help relieve your symptoms. I once had a really bad bout with sciatic pain and my chiropractor told me “put miles in and walk it out.” Doesn’t necessarily mean it will cure it completely, but gentle movement will reduce pain. ⁣

Myth #03 - There is no way to prevent sciatica. ⁣

Fact #03 - Not every case of sciatica can be prevented, but staying active, getting regular bodywork, stretching daily, using proper form during activities and strengthening your core and back muscles can go a long way…so massage and Pilates are the answer to solving your sciatica problems! 😉 ⁣

Do you experience sciatica problems? If so, comment below and I can dm you more info and stretches to do in order to relieve that spicy pain. 👇🏼⁣

I can’t believe I am saying this, but this month marks SIX years of being a massage therapist. As soon as I graduated school, I knew opening a practice is the direction I wanted to take - and here we are 3+ years later.⁣

Massage therapy has taught me many things, but most importantly, it has taught me to be selfless. Every day that I walk into work, I strive to give each and every client my best. Every body is unique, therefore, every client should have a treatment plan that honors just that. ⁣

I want to thank all of you for being much more than my clients; you all have become family and the reason I wake up with a full heart each day. ⁣

To show my appreciation for being so loyal and trusting me with your bodywork, I am going to do a giveaway each week! ⁣

This first giveaway is for all of my current clients - your next massage (whatever you have booked) is on me! ⁣

To everyone I see around me taking the risk to explore new ventures, thriving outside of their comfort zone and healing to make their future bright; this one is for YOU! ⁣

We grow when we step out of that comfort zone; sometimes that step is much bigger than anticipated, yet it allows change to happen and change is HEALTHY! ⁣

I started my business 3 years ago and had no idea what it would look like. It hasn’t always looked pretty, nor felt glorious, but through those tough times of being a small business owner, I can genuinely say I don’t regret anything I have done so far. ⁣

If you need a sign to take that next step, THIS IS IT! I can promise you that no matter how it works out, you’ll be amazed by how much you gain and grow. ✨ ⁣

Happy take the step Tuesday! ⁣

It felt so good to be (safely) attending another Hot August Nights show on Friday night. This valley has so much talent and it is truly inspiring. ⁣

We must continue to support this valley, the small businesses that have been working so hard before and throughout this pandemic and the arts! It takes so much dedication to keep these events going and I am thankful that I am a part of this amazing community. ⁣

Happy Monday!

What style of cup is right for you? ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
If you are interested in purchasing cups for at home use, here are some tips on choosing the right style for your needs and the pricing that goes along with each set. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Base Cupping set - Made with medical grade silicone and platinum-cured, this is the style I use most with every client. It comes with 4 different sizes in order to cup muscles as large as your quads and hamstrings, as small as the intricate muscles of your hands and every muscle in between. These are a 55 hardness level, which is perfect for the DIY cupping at home. $32.58 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Align Cupping set - Made with food grade silicone and platinum-cured, this set has a wide base on each cup to create a comfortable point of contact with the tissue. By pushing down on the handle to create suction, these cups can be used on all areas of the body. The handle on top of the cup allows functionality for manipulating tissue under the skin by lifting and rotating the cups. Dynamic gliding/sliding is not recommended, but rather use them in a static/stationary manner. $28.24 ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Vitality Cupping set - The small spheres of Tourmaline that are embedded around the rim of the cups have given these cups the name. Negative ions are released when put under pressure, which are known to promote healing and improve overall mood and physical health. Small, but mighty these cups provide a deep suction in a static/stationary manner. The best thing about these cups is that they adhere to boney areas the traditional cups just won’t. I take these cups with me when I travel and backpack in order to relieve tension wherever my adventures take me. $28.24⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Classic/Cellulite Cupping set - Medical grade, platinum-cured cups with a wide base to ensure a much smoother gliding/sliding technique or for stationary/static techniques. The functional design allows the cups to fit in the palm of your hand to make them easier to control and to adjust the amount of suction. I don’t personally use them for cellulite, but they are incredibly simple to use on areas like the neck. $23.89⁣⁣

We should never stop growing or receiving knowledge from likeminded ⁣

Reasons you should go backpacking —⁣

• You will learn that your legs can take you much further than you think they can. ⁣
• There is something so freeing about living out of a backpack. ⁣
• Primal instincts kick in when you have to live outside and work for shelter, water and bathrooms. ⁣
• Seeing land that’s been undeveloped and the beauty of nature is pretty neat. ⁣
• Because it’s hard and doing things that are hard is fun. ⁣

I advise all of you to take a moment to breathe a little deeper, open your mind/heart a little wider and push yourself a little harder. The outcome will truly amaze you and that is what is so rewarding about living outside of your comfort zone. ⁣

Happy (mountain) Monday! 🌲✨

If there is anything you need, feel free to text 509.881.1526 and I will be sure to answer you as soon as I enter an area with service. ⁣

The suboccipital muscles (aka the headache muscles) are a group of four muscles located just below the occipital bone. When these muscles become tight, inflamed and aggravated you will start to feel constant tension, resulting in headaches. ⁣

What can you do to help this? ⁣

* Use an essential oil like peppermint to cool down the area. ⁣
* Apply heat/ice (whichever feels best) to help relax the muscles. ⁣
* Get massage! Note: some clients get headaches post bodywork if these muscles are worked too much. So, be sure to let your therapist know! This will ensure that they focus on other muscle groups in order to release the suboccipitals. ⁣
* Stretch, use your tools and do your research! There is so much information online, which is a major plus! ⁣

If you have any tricks up your sleeve that help, let me know in the comments! ⁣

Say no, and put YOUrself first. ⁣

I am choosing to take getting COVID as a blessing, because I once again needed to remember this. Chaos is where I thrive, so usually I pack my work and personal schedule full. Productivity is great, but we all must remember to rest. Schedule those massage appointments, take an extra day off and don’t push your body when it’s fighting you. Set boundaries and say no! It will work out better for everyone if you do. ⁣

On an even better note, I was able to get a (slight) whiff of the wildflowers today, so that’s cool. 🌼 ⁣

Happy (take care of YOU) Tuesday!

04/09/2021

Truth bomb — ⁣

This post is not about making people feel bad or unappreciated, but after chatting with so many people in the industry, I think it’s time to confront some things. ⁣

I want to start off by saying to those of you who support our small businesses around the valley, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ⁣

That being said, I have realized that receiving services whether it be massage, facials, lashes, waxing, etc. is absolutely BOOMING right now. We are all in a place of gratitude since all of you are keeping us so busy. But, busy comes with a price tag and that’s our bodies and minds. Most of us are booked out 1-2 months in advance and have very little wiggle room. Don’t get me wrong, we signed up for this and couldn’t be happier. Yet, at the end of a busy work week we feel exhausted and broken down. I know myself and many others have a hard time saying no and turning off the work brain which leads to burning out at a rapid rate. But, that’s not why we are here. We continue to serve all of you because we care and we care A LOT. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t be here. ⁣

So, what I am trying to say is — please give us a little grace. If you can’t get in right away and have to wait longer than expected, please know that we are trying our hardest to take care of everyone on our schedules. If we don’t respond right away or forget because there are so many calls, emails, dms and texts; we apologize in advance and appreciate your patience. I hope this post finds you well because it’s just a friendly reminder to lead with your heart and remember we are all in this together. ⁣

To all the boss babes out there - I see you. I respect your hustle and hard work. This is not easy, but it’s rewarding. Please feel free to reach out when you’re feeling a little run down. We must support and take care of each other. 💕⁣

Happy (feel good) Friday. ✨
