This means that numerous flash floods are likely. For Thursday, the entire Valley is under a Slight Risk (Level 2) of flash flooding.

Important information.

Aerial view of what rip currents look like. We are entering the season of double red flag 🚩 🚩days. It means the water is closed bc of dangerous rip currents that will sweep you out to sea. Unnecessary drownings occur each year by tourists who either do not know or do not follow the flags. Standing on the shoreline it may not look dangerous.
If double red flags 🚩🚩are flying, do not get in the water.

If you ever caught in a rip current, do not PANIC. Swim parallel to the shore until you are out of it. Never try to swim straight back to shore as you will tire out and likely drown. As you see in the photo, going towards the waves with the white caps will get you back to shore. Stay safe!!

🚨 Tropical storm Harold 🚨

Tropical Storm Harold has formed in the western Gulf of Mexico early this morning with winds of 45 mph. It is still forecast to make landfall along the Lower Texas Coast as a tropical storm later today.

It’s time to start planning ahead 👀🌧🌪

This disturbance now has a 70% chance of formation in the next 2 and 7 days. This system is moving westward around 15-20mph, a tropical depression is likely to form in the beginning of the work week. The main impact from this system is looking to be localized heavy rainfall. The best chance for rain for us here in the valley is Monday evening through Wednesday. {7:12pm Sunday}
