Can you believe school is now in session? With the start of September, the City of West Covina is inviting families and students of all ages to share their favorite Back to School moments and memories. Simply post your pictures on social, tag , and tag your school. Photos will be selected to appear in a special feature later this month.

The City of West Covina operates a number of cooling centers at recreation facilities across West Covina. Cooling centers open when temperatures reach 95 degrees and above. Cooling centers offer the community an indoor area with air conditioning and water to cool off and hydrate. Check out the graphic for more details.

Get ready for some cosplay fun at the West Covina Mega Moon Festival! Hit the streets in your cosplay best for a chance to win a cash prize! The contest takes place from 11:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday, September 21st, and from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday, September 22nd.
Rules are simple- dress up, enjoy the Festival, and catch the eye of one of our secret judges who will be handing out tokens each day. Those who receive a token are invited to return for the final competition the same day they received a token. The final competition for Saturday’s token recipients is at 6:00pm while the final competition for Sunday’s token recipients will take place at 5:00pm. Cash prizes will be awarded!

Beginning and Intermediate monthly Piano classes at Shadow Oak Community Center are now accepting registrations! Classes are available starting as young as 8 years old. Join for an unforgettable night of movie magic! The Film It West Covina Film Festival is scheduled for Friday, August 9, 2024, from 6:00pm to 10:30pm at the West Covina Civic Center. The evening will feature original films created by local students, a battle of the bands competition, food, and industry experts leading a panel with a Q&A session. Don’t miss this night of fun and cinema!

The City of West Covina Engineering and Traffic Division will be holding a Community Meeting on August 8, 2024, to discuss the findings for the signal warrant analysis report on the intersection of Citrus Street and Cameron Avenue.

The West Covina Sportsplex is offering both men’s and co-ed softball leagues starting in August. Gather your teams and register today! League play is available for beginners/intermediate and advanced athletes. The registration fee per team is $475 and includes jerseys for the winning team. There is also a $20 per team, per game umpire fee collected before the start of each game. All team managers must attend the mandatory meeting to join.
