President Biden pardons veterans convicted under regulation used to keep LGBTQ members from serving President Biden has pardoned veterans who were convicted by the military under a regulation that allowed people to be kicked out for being gay.

The idea for PFLAG began on June 25, 1972 when Jeanne Manford marched with her son, Morty, in New York’s Christopher Street Liberation Day March, the precursor to today’s Pride march. After many LGBTQ+ people ran up to Jeanne during the parade and asked her to talk to their parents, she decided to begin a support group. The first formal PFLAG meeting took place on March 11, 1973.
Back in 1972, Jeanne marched at a time when it was dangerous not only to be openly LGBTQ+, but also openly support those who were. PFLAG Jersey Shore started serving LGBTQ+ individuals and their loved ones in 2004, we are to see how much the community has grown in the past 20 years.We collaborate with 2 great organizations & MonmouthCares, to run our youth groups. We have done inclusivity & diversity trainings for Social Services and many other organizations & companies that want to educate their employees on how to better serve their LGBTQ+ clients and so much more. Shaun Connors is a Chapter Engagement Coordinator for PFLAG National. He supports chapters in their development and continued success. His work focuses on providing resources and supporting chapters through programming. Previously, Shaun spent two years working at his undergraduate alma mater, Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, supporting the Frost House staff in Title IX, Dean of Students, and various student affairs initiatives.

Shaun holds a Master of Education in Community Engagement from the Community Engagement Fellowship program at Merrimack College in Massachusetts where his culminating project was a workshop focused on Q***r history, intergenerational connection and experiential education within LGBTQ+ and adjacent communities. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and Associate of Science in Human Services from Middlesex Community College in Massachusetts.
