Sandra wants to talk about Anna Maria Rinaldi. When Sandra sent eBlast news about two or three weeks ago (12 days ago) to the alums and others, including her FB account, she received Anna Maria's email message, "Wonderful to receive a note telling us all is well. Spring is here cuz I'm seeing robins everywhere. Hooray. My health is slowly improving. At least. Thx for visiting us all the way from California to bring us robins as I'm seeing them around!!!!! Many thanks, and be safe. Hugs Anna A Rinaldi". Of course, Sandra emailed her back, too. She told Anna Maria that she had seen Robins, too. That's it. Sandra feels heartbroken, as do other alums and friends. Thank you all for sending us the news about Anna Maria. She has impacted our lives in different ways. We always love her so much. We have information about Anna Maria's memorial service and an interview with her with Kathy Falco.

April 2024
1. On the significant occasion of the 207th Anniversary of the ASD Founders' Day, we had the privilege of inviting Kathy Falco, Alice Bianco, Jeanne Magnon, Lori Hylinski, Liza Alers, Alexandra McGee, and Sandra McLennon. The event was marked by insightful talks, including Leah Katz-Hernandez's experience working at the White House during President Obama's tenure and Ann Silver's inspiring journey as a Deaf artist.
2. This year's Wall of Success Inductees are MJ Bienvenu, Leah Katz-Hernandez, Ann Silver, and Laurene Simms.
3. The Nominations for the Hall of Fame closed on April 30.
Sandra expressed her gratitude to Louis Rivas and Jeanne Magnon for their hard work collecting all the nomination forms, an essential step in the Hall of Fame nomination process.
Louis and Jeanne will work with their committee on all candidates. Then, they will submit the names of the candidates for the Hall of Fame Inductees to the ASDAA Core Circle/Board to accept their recommendations. Once the recommendations are approved, the ASDAA President will contact and inform the winners.
4. Our Director of Communications/Secretary, Lori Hylinski, will share her Vlog with you about our ASDAA CC April Zoom meeting and others.
5. We, the ASDAA CC, will have another meeting in June to prepare for our ASDAA Cookout on Saturday, August 10, and the 110th Anniversary of ASDAA and the 35th Anniversary of the Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, October 5.

Hi Alums and friends,
This is Lori Hylinski, the Director of Communication 00.
Lori wanted to share a few things about our recent ASDAA CC Zoom meeting on April 21, 2024.
The December meeting minutes PASSED.
We used two e-votes for the Achievements and Athletics of the Hall of Fame guidelines and donations of $50K for ASD and ASDAA in February and March 2024. BOTH PASSED.
Our Director of Finances, Alice Bianco' 72, shared with us that:
-We submitted the 990-N to the IRS.
-Our bank account reminded us to change our password every six months to prevent hackers and others. We changed it.
-We donated $33K to ASD for the different programs, plus a new scoreboard with our new ASDAA logo.
We are working on the surveys of the ASDAA By-Laws and Membership dues. We will share them with you when we are done. We appreciate your patience.
We discussed and planned for the 110th Anniversary of the ASDAA and 35th Anniversary of the Hall of Fame Banquet for October 5, 2024. We need more volunteers for the event. Please email Lori at [email protected]
New Business:
-Donations to the PSD Alumni as a sponsor for its 200th anniversary should happen in 2020 (COVID) but will be hosted in June 2024. NOT PASSED due to our ASDAA By-Laws saying we can only donate to ASD for the programs.
-We agreed to keep at $200K in the Endowment Fund. PASSED
-We will have the souvenirs for the ASDAA Banquet this fall. PASSED
Announcements:
-Lori H., Kathy F., Sandra M., Alexandra M., Jeanne M., Alice B., and Liza A. are invited to celebrate the 207th Anniversary of the ASD Founders' Day on Friday, April 26, 2024.
-Alexandra McGee', 73, our ASDAA Director of Outreach and Co-Chair with Barbara Cassin' 75, informed us about the 60th Anniversary of Isola Bella event on July 27, 2024.

Hello,
Sandra McLennon is our ASDAA President's Class of '74. She wants to share a friendly reminder about the Hall of Fame with you, due on April 1, 2024.
Next week is April 1st; please check with anyone who is good at athletics at ASD between the 1970s and 2014.
Jeanne Magnon (JM) specializes in our Sports Hall of Fame for Nominations at ASD. Her email address is [email protected].
Louis Rivas (LR) is our Achievements Hall of Fame for Nominations, out of ASD. The Achievements have four categories: Arts, Community Services, Education, and Sports (A.C.E.S.). His email address is [email protected].
What do you need to fill out the form? Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized? Please don't nominate yourself except to ask someone to write or type for YOU. The gathering includes newspapers, photos, the American Era, and others. Then, the committees can review all the forms.
Please visit our ASDAA website and click here: http://www.asdaa.org/home/halloffame.htm.
Due is April 1, 2024.
Good luck, and Go Tigers!

ASDAA Banquet: Oct. 5, 2024
Background:
Sandra McLennon '74 sits on the blue loveseat behind the blue background screen, has brown skin with black afro hair, earrings, an apple watch with black straps, and wears a black polo shirt with the ASD logo, orange word spelling Alumni, and the white logo of Nike.
Sandra wanted to share two important pieces of information. The 35th Anniversary of the Hall of Fame, HOF, and the 110th Anniversary of the ASDAA, which established our non-profit organization in 1914, will hold a banquet for both events on October 5, 2024. Save your time and money.
Sandra made announcements of the Achievements and Sports of the Hall of Fame. Now, you can apply for the nomination of forms until April 1st. Louis Rivas is responsible for the Achievements of HOF, while Jeanne Magnon takes care of the Sports/Athletics of HOF. They used their vlogs on our ASDAA website. Please visit http://www.asdaa.org/home/halloffame.htm.
When you click the link to the ASDAA HOF, you will see two boxes on the homepage with black lines in white words. The left column shows that you can click our ASDAA HOF Guidelines, in which the ASDAA Core Circle/Board approved the new guidelines and forms of the nomination. In contrast, the right column includes 8 vlogs (One for Sports/Athletics and Seven for the Achievement vlogs). The 7 vlogs need to explain each vlog clearly.
When you pick to click one of 8 vlogs, you will see two choices- open YouTube without texts in front of you or visit the left bottom corner, seeing the words saying "Watch On YouTube." You have to click to open the text to read it.
The application deadline is April 1, 2024, not April Fool's Day. We are serious about getting the forms.
Let Louis and Jeanne share their vlogs with you through the website.
We will let you know more information later on. We are excited to see you there.
