The Greater West Palm Beach Women’s Club is a nonprofit volunteer service organization that is part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC).
It was a busy day today for the GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women's Club.. At our business meeting we heard from a trio discussing Operation Christmas Child Shoebox program, initiated 2 new members and checked out a new Little Free Library box. After the meeting members delivered 50 shirt protectors and clothing to the Finish/American rest home. The shirt protectors are being modeled by Meg and two employees of the rest home.
Today, 6 members delivered school supplies collected by our club to HomeSafe for our adopted girls. Lots of subject folders, binders, pencils & sharpeners, highlighters, composition books, pens, etc., were donated by members. We are ensuring the girls have a good start for the new school year! And... club members Linda Ferris and Averil Carroll delivered freeze pops, drink boxes, snacks of every kind, plus paper plates, bowls, napkins and towels to 'sPlace, a shelter for abused and neglected children in Royal Palm Beach. Pictured with us is Executive Director Roxanne Jacobs.
To celebrate National Zookeeper Appreciation Week , 17 members and 2 guests went to the Palm Beach Zoo. We took the keepers snacks and fruit. Then, of course, we had lunch at the zoo cafe. Fun day!
GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women’s Club initiated 4 new members at our business meeting today. They are pictured with their sponsors and our club President.Sharon Bounds, membership co-chair performed the initiation.
On July 17, we made "Christmas in July" cards. One member wore Christmas garb which gave us all the spirit. We made Christmas cards, birthday cards and zoo cards. Our past District Director brought bags for people to take home and our new member "to be" will take to the Lord's Place, an organization that helps homeless individuals. It was a win-win for everyone! We went to Lucille’s barbecue for lunch. A member who recently moved far away, was able to meet us. We had a lot of fun.
On July 4, members of GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women's Club gave out 2500 free books to children in the community.

It’s been a busy month for the members of the GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women’s Club!
5 members attended the Moss Ball workshop. Lots of fun! Everyone went home with a beautiful creation. Thanks Peggy Breen, for offering your home, your plants and your knowledge.
5 members and 1 guest working on Christmas diamond art to be donated.
Education chair Cindy Jones, did a drive by and noticed they needed books at our sponsored Little Free Library, so she filled it up!
Civic Engagement Chair Doris McArthur delivered lap robes and shower gifts to our local VA center.
Club members donated collected items to Resource Depot. The first delivery needed two large bins for our two cars loads of items. The second delivery filled another large bin. We are helping to turn trash into treasure and waste into wonder!
Club members met and made Thank You cards to be donated to the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach organization.

Members delivered new children’s PJs and clothes, toys, room gates and girls bike to Harmony House, our local domestic assault shelter. Thanks to club Booster Jim for helping!

Today was our ladies day out to learn more about our environment. The Greater West Palm Beach Woman's Club visited the Mount Botanical Gardens in West Palm Beach, Florida. Members learned names and care of flowers, plants and the rainfall totals in West Palm Beach compared to the rest of the United States. We were also treated to large origami shapes incorporated in the gardens.
Grandma's Place was one of the 14 sponsors, supporters, organizations and district clubs to attend our Fashion Show.

This sold-out event was held at the Fountains Country Club and included a silent & chance auction, a 50/50 and a Lottery Hat. GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women’s Club planted a Pinwheels for Prevention Garden for Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month!

For Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month, members of the GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women's Club generously donated items to fill 42 Birthday Bags. These bags will go to children in a local domestic assault shelter. Shea Spencer, CEO of YWCA Palm Beach County, received the bags, that each hold a toy/game, new book, birthday plates and napkins and party favors, along with items to fill the bags.
Club members worked hard unpacking boxes of books to be handed out to children at the GREENACRES EGGSTRAVAGANZA. They handed out 2500 books and raised $414 for the Little Free Libraries.

Four members of the GFWC Greater West Palm Beach Women's Club celebrated Dr Seuss Day by reading to two classes of 4-year-olds at HHRC preschool today. Each child got a book and a reading medal, planned by club chairman Cindy Jones.
