Its official, I’ve made it a year in the new suite! This year has been so great, I could not have done it without all of you amazing clients of mine! You all are an uplifting positive spot in my days and I look forward to going in to work to see y’all! I have learned so much from you all and grown as a stylist this past year.

It can be tricky to control costs without compromising services. With that in mind and with what I’ve experienced this past year in our economy, I have decided to charge the client the credit card processing fee, which is 3.5% per swipe/dip/tap. To put this in perspective, a typical Womens visit is $50, so the fee would add on $1.75.
This is not a service charge, this is a fee that I have to charge in order to be able to accept all credit cards. The money from this fee goes directly to the CC company.

This is becoming more of the norm everywhere I go, nail salons, small business’s, restaurants, dentists and so on. So I’m sure this message doesn’t come as a surprise to you.

On top of this change, there will be a slight price change in just a handful of services. Changes that should have been made at the beginning of June last year, but wanted to put off as I was opening a new place. The service changes will be on women's cuts, mens cuts, and a couple of the colors and perms. For my pricing, you can check my website, lindsaysprague.glossgenius.com. Im so excited to announce that I will be opening my own suite the beginning of June! I have had such an amazing experience at Ivy Lane and am so grateful for the opportunities it offered me, and the clientele I have gained in my many years there. Now onto a new adventure in which I hope you all will join me!☺️

+ the new techniques require a lot of product, even on just one head of hair. For just one client, I tend to use about 1-3 different tubs of bleach, 1-5 different developers, 1-10 different colors/toners, a TON of foil, and other hair products & tool essentials depending on hair goals, length, density, & type of hair I am working with.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Expenses that come with being an independent stylist include, salon insurance, salon/booth rent (depending on the city/state you’re in, can be more expensive), continued education, licensing fees, booking websites, marketing, taxes (taxes can be VERY expensive especially if you’re a sole proprietor. I personally suggest changing to an LLC), we have to take care of our retirement plan, life insurance, disability insurance, health insurance, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
