wer Baskets, Patio Tomatoes, Vegetable Plants, Vegetables, Seasonal Fruit (such as Vermont Apples and Pennsylvania Peaches), Jams, Honey, Honey Cakes, Beeswax Candles, Cut Flowers, Dried Flowers, Garlic Braids, Eggs, Chicken, Pork. We sell the majority of our products through a CSA model, both on site and through delivery. In essence the purchase of a farm "share" gives the consumer fresh local produce all season long. By commiting to buy the vegetables, the consumer receives delicious, freshly picked, local produce at below the retail cost and the farmer reduces the time and money spent on marketing during the season and receives more of the actual food dollar. The consumer also caries some risk with the farmer, but also benefits. For example, if pollination is poor in the squash field, there will be few squash, but another crop will be more bountiful. A "Share" is basically like a subscription in that you pay up front (Feb.-March) and then when the vegetables and strawberries are ripe, they are harvested, cleaned, and delivered/picked-up the same day, which guarantees the share members the finest quality available! Berry Creek Farm's CSA:

Pick-up of vegetables happens at Berry Creek Farm's farmstand during regular farmstand hours (May-Oct.), or at Newport Natural Foods on Main Street in Newport, VT. Members who pick up at Newport Natural receive a pre-packed box of vegetables once a week in the afternoons from mid-June through October. Those members who pick up at the farm shop at the farmstand and receive a 20% reduction on their tab. Members shopping at the farmstand may apply this discount towards all of our farmstand products including: organic bread, yogurt, cheese, eggs, flowers, jams, honey, plants, salad dressings, mustards, seeds, and maple syrup. We plant our seeds according to our membership size. Over 50 vegetable and fruit varieties are offered! Included in the membership is the ability to pick-your-own green beans and wax beans at no extra cost, and we also offer a newsletter and recipes. Berry Creek Farm CSA Members may sign up for other options including organic chicken, turkey, and pork at an additional cost. Members are encouraged to visit the farm at any time during farmstand hours for a tour, picnic, or just to say "hi"! Know where your food is grown! As a NOFA-VT farm, we do not use any genetically engineered seeds, harmful pesticides, or herbicides or fungicides that damage your health and the environment. Reduce packaging, distribution, and transportation waste as well as your carbon footprint! Broaden your food horizons by sampling some unusual varieties with recipes which we gladly share, and increase your dining enjoyment. Live a healthier life! Studies now show that food that travels less is more nutritional than food that has traveled cross country or internationally. Support a local family farm, that, in turn, supports other local businesses and labor while practicing healthy land stewardship and ensuring clean green space in Vermont. Learn about how your food is grown by visiting the farm, and build a healthy new link to your community. Support the Jay Area Food Shelf and the Troy Area Senior Meal Site through the Vermont Farm Share Program - fresh, local, and organic food for those who need it most! Berry Creek Farm is a 158-acre organic farm located in Westfield, VT. For the past 31 years, Gerard and Rosemary Croizet have run the farm together. They sell their fruits, vegetables, flowers and more, as well as produce from other local farms, through their farm stand. They also run a CSA program with 140 members.

Berry Creek Farm has been involved with Green Mountain Farm-to-School since the founding of our organization, with Rosemary serving on the original board of directors. The farm has been a partner of Green Mountain Farm Direct since the program launched in 2009. The partnership with Farm Direct has benefited the farm’s business with sales over the years. “I think what is really helpful is that if we have a lot of something, we can just put it right on sale and a lot of people see it and a convenient way to order, and it gets there. It’s not like a separate delivery account for us, it’s just…boom. It connects a lot of different producers to a larger group of people. It’s just how it should be because agriculture in VT is by nature of its geography small, so nobody can do everything,” says Rosemary.
