Are you looking for more connection with your partner?  What if I told you you can accomplish this in as little as six seconds every day before you leave for work?

Put into practice the six-second kiss!
Or the 20-second hug.

We’re not suggesting you get out a timer or count one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, although if that is what you need, by all means, count in your head. You may be asking why we are specific about how long hugging or kissing should last, but science is backing us up.

At our therapy office, we believe that open and honest conversations are the foundation of a healthy and fulfilling intimate life. Embrace vulnerability and let your true self be seen—it’s the key to deeper connections and more meaningful experiences. 💬❤️

It’s ok to want to react, it’s also important to note and be aware of HOW we react as it can incredibly impact ourselves, our partners, and our relationship.

Here is an amazing tip from our lovely Savana on how to down regulate emotions and decide if /how to express them

🌸 Understanding Postpartum Depression 🌸
Postpartum Depression (PPD) affects 1 in 7 new mothers, yet it often goes unspoken. Recognizing the symptoms is the first step towards healing. Common signs include:

Persistent sadness or hopelessness
Severe mood swings
Difficulty bonding with your baby
Withdrawal from family and friends
Changes in appetite or sleep patterns
Intense irritability or anger
Fear of not being a good mother

If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, remember: you are not alone, and help is available. Reach out to a healthcare provider, support group, or trusted loved one. Your mental health matters. 💕

05/24/2024

We decide for ourselves what is OUR NORMAL. Others don’t have to decide for you, and for performance of others reduces authenticity of self

05/22/2024

Let’s choose courage over comfort. 🌟 It’s easy to fill in the blanks with our assumptions, but true understanding comes from open, honest conversations. Dare to ask, dare to speak, and dare to listen. By communicating directly, we build stronger connections and avoid the misunderstandings that assumptions often bring. Let’s empower each other to speak our truths and share our stories. 💬✨

05/20/2024

🌟 Feeling overwhelmed? Let’s hit the pause button together! Here are 4 easy self-care tips to help you recharge and embrace your day with positivity:

1️⃣ Eat a Healthy Diet 🥗—we eat good, we feel good.
2️⃣ Make time for Hobbies 🥾—disconnect to reconnect with yourself.
3️⃣ Sleep 😴—give your brain and body the rest it needs.
4️⃣ Exercise Regularly🧘—try a quick breathing exercise to calm your mind.

Start with one tip or try them all; the important thing is to take a moment for YOU! 💖 tips

As we enter into the weekend, remember these wise words for our therapist, Savana!!!

05/01/2024

Surrounded yet secluded. 🌿 Sometimes, loneliness isn’t about being alone; it’s about feeling disconnected. Let’s bridge the gap with understanding and compassion. Reach out, share your story, and listen. Together, we can turn solitary moments into connections that matter. 💬🤝

Our lovely Becky Anderson has some thoughts on the book, No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz

"'The cracks within you are where the lights get in, illuminating your true essence.' Such a fantastic book helping to better understand all your parts. being able to look at your “bad parts” not as flaws to be ashamed of, but information for growth and self-discovery."

Share your thoughts on the quote in the comments!

A quote for your thoughts,

"The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves."
-Victor Hugo

Active listening is a critical piece to proper communication and comprehension

04/17/2024

Some insightful words from our founder, Aaron Anderson, on the topic of stress and stress management.

"Stress isn’t just crap you’re feeling at work. Stress can come from good things, too. Like seeing a child go off to college, starting a new (better) job, getting married and moving. Just because it’s not something society deems as ‘bad’ doesn’t mean it also isn’t stress."

Penny for anyones thoughts and comments👀👀

We see this all the time!

In a culture that pushes positivity, know the different between positive attitude and avoidance.

If you are the one in your relationship that is constantly avoiding your partners emotional ques due to your positive mindset, PLEASE take the time, effort and discomfort to meet them emotionally. Your relationship will flourish!

If "negative" emotions are hard for you, we recommend you meet with a therapist to become more emotionally aware and open.
