The Board of Canvassers for Carroll County will conduct the final mail-in ballot canvass for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election. When the canvass is complete, the election will be certified.

The Board of Canvassers for Carroll County will begin the process of opening, reviewing, and scanning the mail-in ballots we have received so far for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election. Results will not be available until after the polls close on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

We need Election Judges for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election!

If you are at least 16 years old, you can earn from $250 to $330 a day by working during Early Voting or on Election Day. You will also be paid $50 for completing the mandatory training.

We would like to notify you that Carroll County will not have a contest for the Board of Education in the upcoming 2024 May primary election. There will not be a nonpartisan ballot in the primary election. The Board of Education contest will appear on the ballot in the 2024 November general election.

In Maryland, you must be registered with the Republican Party to vote the Republican ballot, or you must be registered with the Democratic Party to vote the Democratic ballot in the primary election. If you want to vote during the primary election, follow these steps:

1. Check your party affiliation online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterSearch

2. Change your party affiliation (only if you want to vote in the primary election) online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterUpdate

3. Go vote!

The deadline to change your party affiliation is Tuesday, April 23rd!

Mail-in Ballot drop boxes are available 24/7 and will be locked at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. The ballot drop boxes are under 24/7 surveillance and are very secure. No one has access to the drop boxes except for trusted election officials.
