At the Westport Kiwanis meeting on Thursday night, Braydin Baltus was honored with the 2024 Bradley Maddux Sportsmanship & Mental Attitude Award. This prestigious award, given annually by the Decatur County Youth Baseball League, is decided by votes from the coaches of opposing teams.

The award was presented by Darryl Maddux in memory of his son Bradley, who tragically passed away in 1990.

Braydin Baltus, a member of the league co-champion Millhousen Phillies team, is the son of Patrick and Emily Baltus.

This season, the Decatur County Youth Baseball League saw participation from 116 players and 22 coaches. The P*e Wee and Little League divisions each played twenty games, with the Little League division also completing nine tournament games.

Supporting the families of DCCS is where my heart is! Having 4 children in this school system, I understand firsthand the pros and cons of the school system.
