Parishioners and guests, please remember that the northbound exit ramp and southbound entrance ramp at Roosevelt Road and I-355 will be closed Mother's Day weekend for maintenance activity.

*** UPDATE (May 24th): The Village has been informed that the project has been rescheduled to begin on Friday, May 31st, at 7 p.m. and end on Saturday, June 1st, at 5 p.m. ***

*** UPDATE (May 10th): The Village has been informed that the project has been POSTPONED due to permitting issues. The Village will provide additional information and updates as they are received from the Tollway. ***

ORIGINAL POST: The Village has been informed by the Illinois Toll Highway Authority that the northbound exit ramp and southbound entrance ramp at Roosevelt Road and I-355 will be closed this weekend for maintenance activity. The closures and detours will be in place from Friday, May 10 at 7 PM to Sunday, May 12 at 5:00 PM (weather-dependent), per our project Special Provision. The other two ramps will be completed using staged construction and will remain open.

Motorists are encouraged to use either Butterfield Road or North Avenue during the closure. Temporary traffic signal timings will be completed along the detour route.

From our second Presanctified Liturgy of Lent 2024...

Today, an angel stands in fear and awe in the presence of woman, she who is “more honorable than the cherubim and more glorious beyond compare than the seraphim.” This is not Byzantine hyperbole: the Mother of God contained within herself the one before whom the angels merely tremble, immeasurably surpassing every other creature by her total self-abnegation and humility: “Let it be unto me according to thy word.” Totally emptying herself, she made room, space, in her heart and in her womb, for God Almighty to dwell. If we wish to be saved and achieve eternal union with the God of our hearts, then, unworthy sinners though we be, we must strive to imitate her path of utter humility and undistracted prayer.
