My name is Grace, and I would love to share my story with you. When I was 18 years old, my eye doctor retired, so my mom and I started looking for a new eye doctor. We wanted a specialist who works with amblyopia and we found Dr. Pirotte at Child and Family Eyecare. During my first exam, he discussed vision therapy with us. We were so happy to finally find an answer to the visual problems I had dealt with my entire life.

Vision therapy has improved my vision in so many ways, and gave me opportunities that I never believed possible. My amblyopia has improved dramatically, it isn’t perfect, but the differences are amazing.

When I first started vision therapy, my right eye was 20/20, while my left was 20/80. I was dealing with pain and pressure behind my left eye, and I suffered headaches around three times per week. After therapy, my left eye improved to 20/50, which is a significant difference. I can now correct my own vision when my eye drifts, and that helps keep me from seeing double. My headaches and eye pain are gone! One of the most exciting things is that I can now see 3D, and it’s amazing! I never knew what I was missing.

Vision therapy has led me to the most caring and loving people and they have further inspired me to pursue vision are as my future career.
