May is Healthy Vision Month! At Hall Family Eyecare, we are committed to helping our patients achieve and maintain healthy eyes and clear vision. Regular checkups are key to preventing and detecting eye problems early!

Monday, April 8th is the Solar Eclipse! Don’t forget to wear your eye protection that conforms to and meets the Transmission Requirements of ISO12312-2 Filters for Direct Observance of the Sun. Contact your local Lions Club for availability. Refrain from looking at the sun without the proper eyewear filter.

April showers bring May flowers… and allergies. It’s Eye Allergy Awareness Month! Wichita has been recognized as the number one allergy capital in the United States. Experiencing itchy, red, burning, or watery eyes? Your eyes may be suffering from allergies, also known as allergic conjunctivitis. Eye allergy triggers can range from pollen, pets, dust mites, mold, and smoke. Here are some tips to manage and relieve your allergy symptoms:

- Change your clothes after being outside and shower
- Keeping windows closed
- Wear glasses or sunglasses to further protect eyes from allergens
- Use artificial tears or speak with your eye care professional about what allergy eye drop is appropriate for you
