Prairie Sun Elephant Garlic
A small farm in Central Kansas, Growing Non-GMO elephant garlic without herbicides or pesticides.
Enjoy the taste of sweet, fresh Elephant Garlic! October is the time to plant your garlic. It will begin to grow in the fall and will continue growing during the spring months. Harvest time is late June. You can enjoy your home-grown garlic all year!
Because of the unusual extreme cold weather in February we lost most of our crop. I do have a very limited supply of medium-size bulbs and individual cloves. Order now before they are gone.
LAST CHANCE FOR THIS YEAR! We have sold out of bulbs and cloves but if you would like to try our Elephant Garlic Rounds we still have some of them. They are the size of small onions (2-5 oz) and are great for salsa and cooking or roasting.
Prairie Sun Elephant Garlic Naturally grown elephant garlic in Central Kansas.
SALE! All inventory is currently on SALE for $10/pound. Try our mild, gourmet, elephant garlic in your cuisine or grilling! Our elephant garlic bulbs and balls are an awesome ingredient in your fresh salsa or pasta sauces! If you want to try growing elephant garlic in your garden, they are easy to grow and should be planted the last half of September (in Kansas). Planting time will vary in different locations.
Foreign countries use pesticides, herbicides and bleach in raising garlic and preparing it for sale. Avoid these chemical toxins by buying our Kansas grown elephant garlic. At Prairie Sun Farm we use no pesticides or herbicides.
Elephant garlic is much larger than regular garlic, but has milder flavor. We have nice large bulbs of garlic, each containing 3-8 cloves. These bulbs weight up to 1/3 pound each.
This year we have some beautiful balls of garlic. These did not divide into cloves, but left large balls, weighing between 2-6 oz each - perfect for recipes requiring large quantities of garlic.
The third form we are selling is the cloves that we have separated out from the bulb. These are ideal for planting, but can be used for cooking as well.

Our elephant garlic has been hand-picked from the field, bundled and hung to dry. Once the stalks and roots are clipped, they are placed in racks to continue to dry. We are excited they will be ready to ship in a week!
Our garlic has just finished “scaping” which means it sent up these bulbs which would turn into flowers then seeds if left alone. We broke them off so more energy would go into making bigger bulbs of garlic. This means we will be ready for harvest in 2-3 weeks!
