July was a hot month ☀️ and Camp Woodchuck made the best of it by visiting the Edgemoor Park Splashpad! 💦Campers enjoyed a nice cool down in the various water features.
Facilities Coordinator Dustin Hudson is a jack of all trades. 🔨🧰
From the ground to the roof, he makes a difference by taking care of Rainbows’ facilities and keeping things safe for children and staff. A dedicated member of the Leadership Team, we’d be up a creek without him. 🌈
He wants people to know Rainbows 50+ year history has made the Agency strong today. He says, “it’s a great place to be, I enjoy the loving, caring family atmosphere."

Thank you to McConnell Air Force Base for inviting Camp Woodchuck youth and staff for a special visit that included getting into an Air Force plane ✈️ (those stairs go way up high), life raft (some of the kids called it a jumpy house), 🚒 fire truck, equipment table (where the kids got to try on helmets with binoculars), canine demonstration and visits with Airmen.
Camp Woodchuck is part of Rainbows’ Family Support Services Program.
A rainy morning in July didn't stop Camp Woodchuck Choir! 🎶Campers performed at Hampel Oil and even squeezed in a little dancing. Thank you to Hampel Oil for your continued support! ❤

Did someone say shaving cream battle? The Ability Experience -Journey of Hope made a stop in Wichita at Kids' Cove mid July to enjoy some fun with Campers at Camp Woodchuck. ☀️It was a hot afternoon, but everyone was covered with shaving cream from head to toe by the end.

Rainbows held its annual All Staff event Monday. 🌈
The theme, IMPACT was shared through stories and videos throughout the morning. New president Rachel Banning shared her inspiring story of IMPACT that helped everyone get to know her and how she is able to relate first-hand to the mission of Rainbows we all hold near and dear.
🏆Several milestone awards were presented and staff enjoyed celebrating the IMPACT of their co-workers.
This year’s theme for Rainbows’ All Staff event was IMPACT. During the employee event, staff honored milestones and celebrated the IMPACT Rainbows' staff make in the lives of those we touch.

This June, Walser Auto Campus held our Annual Shop for a Cause Event, raising funds for local organizations through automotive sales. For every vehicle sold, $25 was donated to the purchaser's choice of community organization.
One of our 2024 beneficiaries was Rainbows United, Inc. an organization that enhances the lives of children with special needs and their families by bringing together community resources and providing customized services.
